It's a 2009 and we checked the battery it's good and all my lights in the inside the dash and radio work and turn on with key in and with the key out

  • Jeff Armer Apr 13, 2016

First off , if your lights work an the battery is good , you have to understand how complex this vehicle is . An a factory scan tool or a professional grade one is imperative. Because you need to see if the BCM an PCM are receiving the proper signals on the Data bus. Suggest you google C.A.N ,controller area network or GMLAN . When you turn the key to the start position ,it sends discrete voltage signals to the BCM - body control module . Then the BCM sends a message to the PCM - engine computer stating a crank has been requested . When the ignition switch is placed in the Start position, a discrete signal is supplied to the body control module (BCM) notifying it that the ignition is in the Start position. The BCM then sends a message to the engine control module (ECM) notifying it that CRANK has been requested. The ECM verifies that the transmission is in Park or Neutral. If it is, the ECM then supplies 12 volts to the control circuit of the STARTER relay. When this occurs, battery positive voltage is supplied through the switch side of the STARTER relay to the S terminal of the starter solenoid.
Your best bet is take it to the dealer or an ASE certified repair shop > You don't have the tools or knowledge to fix a problem like this . I'm telling you this for your own good ,

Thank you Jeff I'm gonna have to try and fix myself I live in a small town and can not go anywhere to get the car fixed

  • Jeff Armer Apr 13, 2016

Well if you must ! Do you know anything about automotive electronics . Do you know how to test electrical circuits ? Go on youtube an check out videos on basic automotive electrical circuit trouble shooting , voltage drop testing , how to read a wiring diagram .Then you can go to http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html for free wiring diagrams . Enter the vehicle info then under system click on engine then under subsystem click on starting , too see what all is involved . If any modules need to be replaced they have to be programmed then you have to take it to the dealer .

If the anti theft goes off(proves itself) and you can't get the starter to engage with the key. It can be the ignition switch, crank/starter fuse, starter relay, starter, or neutral safety switch. Check the fuse. Then I would put the key in run position. Pull the starter relay and jump pins 30 and 87 in the panel. If it turns over/tries to start. replace the neutral safety switch on the transmission.

Before replacing parts test , an that includes hooking up a scan tool !
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle
Before beginning vehicle diagnosis, the following preliminary inspections/tests must be performed:
    • Ensure that the battery is fully charged. Refer to Battery Inspection/Test.

    • Ensure that the battery cables are clean and tight.

    • Inspect for any open fuses. Refer to Power Distribution Schematics and Electrical Center Identification Views.

    • Ensure that the grounds are clean, tight, and in the correct location. Refer to Ground Distribution Schematics and Harness Routing Views.

    • Inspect the easily accessible systems or the visible system components for obvious damage or conditions that could cause the concern. This would include checking to ensure that all connections/connectors are fully seated and secured.

    • Inspect for aftermarket devices that could affect the operation of the system. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories.

    • Search for applicable service bulletins.

? If the preceding inspections/tests resolve the concern, go to Diagnostic Repair Verification.

Install a scan tool. Verify that the scan tool powers up.
? If the scan tool does not power up, refer to Scan Tool Does Not Power Up.

Ignition ON, Engine OFF, verify communication with all of the control modules on the vehicle. Refer to Data Link References for information on the modules you should expect to communicate.
? If the scan tool does not communicate with one or more of the expected control modules, refer to Data Link References.

Important: Open the drivers door to ensure retained accessory power mode (RAP) is inactive during this test. The engine may start during this test. Turn the engine OFF as soon as the crank power mode has been observed.

Access the Power Mode parameter on the scan tool. Verify the power mode parameter matches all the ignition switch positions. Refer to Power Mode Description and Operation for information on the power mode states that correspond to each ignition switch position.
? If the power mode parameter does not match the ignition switch position for all ignition switch positions, refer to Power Mode Mismatch.

Attempt to start the engine. Verify that the engine cranks.
? If the engine does not crank, refer to Symptoms - Engine Electrical.

Attempt to start the engine. Verify the engine starts and idles.
? If the engine does not start and idle, refer to one of the following:

    • Engine Cranks But Does Not Start for the 2.4L engine

    • Engine Cranks But Does Not Run for the 3.5L engine

    • Engine Cranks But Does Not Run for the 2.8L, 3.0L, 3.2L or 3.6L engine

    • Engine Cranks But Does Not Runfor the 3.6L (LCS) engine

Important: Do not clear any DTCs unless instructed to do so by a diagnostic procedure.

Important: If any DTCs are Powertrain related DTCs, select Capture Info in order to store the DTC information with the scan tool.

Use the appropriate scan tool selections to obtain DTCs from each of the vehicle modules. Verify there are no DTCs reported from any module.
? If any DTCs are present, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle and diagnose any current DTCs in the following order:

    7.1. DTCs that begin with a U.

    7.2. Any of the following: B1000, B1001, C0550, CO551, P0601, P0602, P0603, P0604, P0606, P0607, P060D, P062F, P01AE, P01AF, P1621, P1A04, P1A05, P1A06, P1A08, P1A63, P1A69, P1A6A, P2108, or P2610

    7.3. Any of the following: B1325, B1327, B1328, B1372, B1382, C0847, C0848, C0896, C0899, C0900, P0562, P0563, P0A8E, P0AF8, P0AFB, P1A0C, P1A0D, P1A22, P1A23, P1A26, P1A27, P1A29, P1A2A, P1A30, P1A31, P1A59, P1A6D, P1A6E, or P1A70

    7.4. Component level DTCs.

    7.5. System level DTCs.

    7.6. Any remaining DTCs.

If the customer concern is related to inspection/maintenance (I/M) testing, refer to Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) System Check.
? If the previous test or inspection does not address the concern, refer to Symptoms - Vehicle.

SOURCE: 2005 ford taurus. Remote entry wont work theft light keeps blinking when key is engaged

HI, I'm reading your problem,
Let me explain something about your car.

2005 Ford Taurus, The key on that car has Chip inside of the key and receiver on the ignition switch,
Check if the key you are trying to use is Black and has a plastic head.
If not you need a key with that characteristics.
But if you have the right key, Remenber if you had drop on the floor, or hit with something,
Because some times they come damaged, with insignificat thins.
Remenber if you left the key close to a magnets like speakers.

If nothing aply at your case, you need to call a place Aloha Smith, they have the computer to program or reprogarm your key. IF not you can't start your car.

OK.. I hope this information work for you.

Thank's for submit yous question on fixya.com

SOURCE: 2002 Saturn Vue V6 Loss of Power

Yup. The throttle body connectors have a history of failing on these cars. Replace the throttle body and the wire connectors that go to it, and you're back in business. Not terribly difficult and you can get the parts from any dealer. Saturn actually has a bulletin out on this problem but they won't cover it unless you're under warranty - no recall for this.

2003 Saturn Vue. How to disable or bypass theft deterrent security system to a 2003 Vue that quit running while I'm driving.

Question edited for fix all the typos and spelling.
Question moved to category.

No, you can't disable it, you have to fix the problem, not try and find a way around it.

There is help to reset, but you probably need an auto electrician or a local place that installs alarms and remote starters. The both have pro grade scan tool computers to diagnose the problem.

1. Try putting the gear shift in neutral and then attempt to start. If your VUE starts, replace the neutral safety switch.

2. Turn on the headlights and attempt to start while someone is watching for the lights to dim. If the lights dim while trying to start, remove starter and have it tested.

3. Take proof of ownership to the dealer and have them cut a new key. There is a chip inside the key, that when it's inoperative, will let you turn the key to the start position, but vehicle will not start.
