SOURCE: CVT 2002 Mini Cooper transmission check and change

The only way to check the trans fluid is to drain the fluid right out of the trans pan. There should be 5 liters. The only way to get the fluid in is by pumping the fluid back in by means of the fill plug on the lower front of the transmission. I believe it is a 4 or a 6mm allen to remove the plug. Whatever you use to pump the fluid back in needs to seal where the fill plug is because fluid will pour right back out. I would change the fluid at least every 50k.

My 2010 nissan sentra transmission has a jerking to goes in gear but doesnt want to move can anybody help

What type of Transmission? Many use the CVT and there are many known issues with it. My son had to go to Nissan and LOUDLY complain and Nissan picked up all but $900 for a brand new transmission.

Don't know if that helps but if you have a CVT...good luck.

My 2000 Jaguar XJ8 has several different warning lights on. Trac, ASC, and Transmission. Then the amber engine symbol came on. The car died while I was driving and it started again. Am I safe to...

42 miles with a jaguar. First I love Jaguars. Youll get to your home by a tow truck. The car is talking to you say its sick. Here is what will happen, The TRAC, ASC, light is on okay the APP will now go to limp home mode what this mean it will default giving limited operations, youll probable just go 30mph, and that is just it. The transmission does not know what gear or how fast its going so it communicates to the powertrain it tell it I dont know what Im doing so it activates the traction control and say keep me safe the traction control say okay Ill get disable, then the transmission control tell the powertrain I could be burning up or slipping. So The APP(acclerator pedal position ) gets involved and say we will just limp on home.Remeber i love juguars so does tow trucks

Hello, I have a question concerning my recently purchase 2001 Honda Civic CVT. When purchased we added 1 liter transmission oil, not knowing it needed special transmission oil for CVT's. Other people...

Just drain the oil. DO NOT FLUSH TRANSMISSIONS especially continuous varible transmissions. thats why they won't garantee there work. replace with specified MUGEN oil. its the only oil designed specificaly for HONDA's, pluse mugen is honda's performance company.

Can I change the filter and fluid in my 2006 ford 500 myself and what atf fluid should i use? Thanks

You have a CVT transmission. It is a specific CVT fluid that is green. You really shouldn't so it yourself, because the filt plug is under the battery and it is extremely small, too small for a standard funnel.

Cvt replacement

Whats a cvt?
Continuously variable transmission.
Hope there is a Honda expert who can answer this; the standard automatic may not bolt straight on to the engine.
