Make sure you replace your thermostat as it could go bad after over heating.

SOURCE: Mazda MPV Coolant Loss (but no overheat)

i had the same thing on my wifes 2000 mpv van...the ends of the radiator are made of some sort of composite type material....it had a slight crack in it....wasn't obvious until it got worse and started streaming water from it when warmed up....even after it cooled enough not to be spewing it was hard to actually see the crack though a few inches long....was hard to even see where the water and antifreeze mixture was coming from until i took out the radiator

SOURCE: 2004 VW Bug leaking antifreeze. small puddles

the VW beetle has a plastic radiator, where the cap is if you look to the front of that it does a 90, it is cracked there. Here is the fun part, with a throx wrench ( I think it was a T-30) take apart the fenders and front bumper. At the auto parts store there is a plastic tank repair kit, the kit includes resign, fiber glass cloth, and a stick. You will need to rough up the crack as it is right where it angles and lay on the cloth and resign. Let it dry and it will not leak from there again. Good Luck Tim

SOURCE: my mazda mpv 2001 coolant leaking somewhere.

1. External Leaks
You need to get the vehicle to a mechanic to check all flexible coolant hoses, hose connections, around the exterior of the water pump and the entire radiator. To do properly the vehicle also needs to be on a hoist. If there is an external leak you should find coolant dripping from the front of the car while the engine is idling and the cooling system is fully pressurized. However it depends how bad the leak is and it's location.

2. Internal Leak

If coolant is leaking into the engine this is a serious problem and needs to be identified by a competent mechanic. For example, if you have a blown head gasket coolant will blow into the engine and contaminate the engine oil. If you check the oil in the engine's sump it should be completely free from coolant contamination.
You should also check the coolant in the radiator for any signs of oil contamination. If there is coolant in the oil then there will also likely be engine oil which has blown into the engines coolant passages and then mixed with the coolant.
IF you can find traces of coolant in your engine oil (or oil in the coolant) the likely problem will be a blown head gasket and the head on the engine will need to be removed and inspected .

Blown head gaskets are usually a result of an owner allowing the engine to overheat as a result of low coolant level, failed water pump or faulty thermostat. Overheating can also cause major damage to the head on the engine.

Where is the transmission fluid temperature sensor on a mazda mpv 2001

don't know if your vehicle even has a trans temp sensor. if it did it would be located internally inside the trans pan in valve body. check your trans fluid level, color, and smell. worn trans fluid will cause trans shift issues. burned trans fluid is an indication your clutches are burning and slipping.

Hi, I have the following problems that suddenly started to occur on my 1997 Mazda MPV. 1. Every time i turn the ignition the car deposit what looks like blue smoke this is happening regularly now. 2....

1. This is probably the result of oil leaking into the cylinder through a bad valve stem seal. 2. As long as the coolant reservoir is not indicating a loss of coolant (ie the reservoir is not low) and the cooling system is properly blead than I would not worry about the intermittent slight increase in coolant temp. 3. I would first try greasing the track and regulator. 4. does the key lock move freely?

My mazda mpv 2001 is over heateng

Make sure that you always have enough coolant in your car so that it does not overheat. If it continues to overheat after you have filled your car up the the full line with the coolant, then you might have a leak in the coolant reservoir or a hose that is connecting it to the engine. If all of that fails then there is a problem with your engine and t is a very serious problem that you will have to take to the mechanic.

My 91 mpv is leaking coolant from rear of motor, under throttle body and intake plennum. can't find a diagram of cooling system to see what could be source.

you need to have this checked out by a good shop,
locating leaks is not easy you need to pressurize the system and find the fluid as soon as it starts to leak,or it could go other places and make you think its leaking there.

Mazda 2001 MPV just serviced. Noticed green

check under the hood and see if you can see where its leaking from might be a hose clamp that you can tighten , if not place cardboard / paper under engine and leave it for a few hours ,return later, any drops will give you an idea of where the leak is. with the engine cold top up the radiator with water only.. do not add antifreeze its only going to leak out again..call the repair shop when they are open..
