Try this - but only if you are savvy enough around fuel systems... (at your own risk ofcourse...)
The fuel pump and fuel sensor are an assembly sitting in the fuel tank.
Take off the fuel tank, take the fuel pump out carefully. You'll see a kinda "float" connected to a n arm on the fuel pump.
Clean the slide contact points thoroughly. It should fix it.
Notice that you're not bending anything the wrong way or you'll throw it even more out of balance....

Hope this helps,
Good luck.

Mazda 2008 tribute, fuel gauge not reading correctly. Replaced the fuel pump and no change. Any ideas?

If the signal from the sending unit is correct, the problem would be in the gauge on the dash.

Fuel gage showing half a tank but trip computer only registering 60 miles left

Its very simple. If the gauge is showing half full then fill the tank and see how much fuel it takes. If the amount you add is approximately 50 percent of the fuel tank capacity then you know the fuel gauge is accurate . In that case the computer is giving an inaccurate reading and should be ignored. All you need is an accurate fuel gauge - it does not matter a row of beans what the computer says if the fuel gauge is reading correctly.

Why is gas gauge not working correctly since fuelpump was replaced.

Is this a flex fuel vehicle. If so, call the dealership and ask the parts dept. if there is a gauge module (perhaps behind the instrument cluster). This may be the culprit and needs to be replaced.

2001 Buick Lesabre - Fuel Gauge not showing correct reading.

sounds like you probably need a fuel level sender. it's located in the trunk on the right hand side attached to the fuel pump. I got one on ebay for about 20.00, but you might as well replace the fuel pump while you're at it, as it can go bad with time.

Your problem is fuel gauge is hanging up on the fuel pump. The slide bar/fuel sender is located inside the fuel tank alongside the fuel pump. Today I removed my fuel tank and replaced the pick up strainer on my fuel pump and previously my fuel gauge didn't work, but all I needed to do was slightly bend the slide mechanism and my fuel reading read correctly on my gauge. Previous to that I showed no reading on the dash meter.
