I have just water coming out of the tailpipe and it will keep dying once it warms up?

My Explorer has been dying once it warms up, so we thought it was a gas problem and changed the fuel filter. Now it is still doing the same thing and we noticed quit a bit of water coming out of the tailpipe? What does this mean?

You most likely have a really clogged CAT or a blown headgasket.. being the fact it runs ok till it's warmed up(fluids thin when warm), I would lean more towards the headgasket.. check your spark plugs for any oil or fluid on the spark end to determine which headgasket is blown.

LEAKING WATER FROM MUFFER ,BUT NOT RADITATOR 97 JIMMY

That's Normal, in the morning during warm up and probaly the first 5 miles until it gets nice and hot. the water you see is condensation from the cooling down after operation there's a small hole in the muffler to allow this condensation to escape. Check it after you have driven 10 miles or so, Stop the truck, put it in park, let it idle and look to see if it's dripping. If its not dripping no worries.

I have a 2002 ford explorer sport trac. My truck ran fine yesterday but this morning I went to start it & it started ran for about 5 seconds then died I did this 4 or 5 times then my son noticed some...

Check your fuel pressure, there are Relays to check. Sometimes the pump is so weak that it delivers enough to start the engine and can not keep up. It is also built to shut down the fuel if the engine dies.

When you turn the key, you should hear the fuel pump run. As for the smoke, with the automatic shut-offs occurring, there is moisture and incomplete combustion gases leaving the tailpipe.

I own a 2005 freelander 1.8ES, A nice car or so I thought. It's developed a misfire when cold and there appears to be slight and I mean slight contamination in the water header tank. The misfire clears...

it could be due to a slight loss of compression from your head gasket going out. compression can be tested with a simple meter attached to a cylinder, but it may not be severe enough to be detectable.

you dont always see smoke or coolant dripping from out of your tailpipe when the head gasket does bad, but if the coolant has an oily film on top, then you should strongly consider it.

White Smoke from tailpipe

If you find any coolant loss, likely the head gasket is beginning to leak or you have a small crack in the cylinder head that is opening up when it warms up. If you have it checked, you will save yourself large problems down the road. Sometimes you will see a slight greenish residue on spark plug electrodes. Sometimes even shop tests are inconclusive if leak is very small. But, I can't see the smoke from here and really can't advise further.

BLACK SOOT AND WATER COMING FROM TAILPIPE

It sounds like you may have gotten a Tank of Contaminated Fuel. Try to Run a Can of B12 Chemtool through the Fuel Tank and see if it will not Clear up. You can get the B12 Chemtool at Wal-Mart in the Automotive Section or at Your Local Autoi Parts Store.
