I need to know the location of the turn signal flasher. I can hear it but am unable to locate it to remove it.

I want to replace it with an adjustable rate flasher provided the adjustable flasher has the same number of prongs as the original. My truck has a hemi engine in it.

Thanks Andrew for your reply. I had located those images on the internet and couldn't find any that fit the year of my truck. From the sound that I pick up it appears to be up higher in the instrument panel. But I'll keep trying to see if I can locate it somehow. I might say that I find using you web site to be some what confusing and I'm not sure I've learned to use it properly yet. This was my first time. I believe you asked me for the size of my engine which I promptly typed in what I though was the proper space, but there was no button to click on to send my reply to you is one example of the difficulty I encountered. But in any case thanks for your advice. I appreciated that you were willing to take the time to answer my inquiry. David Chisholm

I don't think there is a flasher unit on Dodges newer than 2004. It's all electronically controlled through the TIPM (totally integrated power module) on the left front fender based on selections from the multifunction switch (turn signal lever and hazard switch). The clicking sound is generated by "an electromechanical relay soldered
onto the instrument cluster electronic circuit board that will produce
a clicking sound to emulate a conventional turn signal
flasher."

1985 LeSabre flashers work turn signals don't need location of turn signal switch or are they one of the same

You mean turn signal flasher? No, the hazard flasher and turn flasher on older cars were separate. Often, the hazard flasher was right of the steering column (under the dash), and the turn flasher was left of the column. Look for two similar canisters. Turn the hazard lights on and locate the hazard flasher by feel or hearing. The turn flasher will be the other one. They both may be retained by metal clips.

No turn signals they come on but don't flash

It's probably the turn signal flasher. It is usually located under the dash along with the hazard light flasher. If you don't know what it looks like, then go to a parts store and look at a new one. Once you have located one, then remove it. Try the hazard flashers. If they work, then replace that flasher with a new one. If they don't, then reinstall that flasher and look for another one like it. When you find one, replace it with the new flasher and try the turn signals. (remember : the key must be on for the turn signals to operate). I hope this information helps you and thank you for using Fixya.com.

Where does the flasher go on a 98 chevy malibu

Replacement The turn and hazard flashers are integrated into one flasher on these models. The flasher is located in the hazard warning switch and the hazard warning switch is located on the trim plate. Replace the flasher by unplugging the old one, removing it from the panel, and plugging in the new one.
  1. Remove the bezel from the ignition switch.

Flasher location

I believe the hazard/flasher relay is located under/left of the dash . I think if you remove the under panel under the steering column it should be attached to the BCM bracket under the dash on the left side.

Remove the left instrument panel (IP) insulator.
Remove the steering column filler panel.
Slide the hazard and turn signal flasher to the right, releasing the tabs from the Body Control Module (BCM) bracket.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the hazard and turn signal flasher.

Hope this helps.....

Need to locate signal light flasher 2001 dodge intrepid

If you mean the flasher, which makes the turn signals and hazards to blink, then...

It's a combo flasher which operates both the turn signals and the hazard lights. To access the combo flasher with ease remove the drivers knee bolster and then remove the brake release cable end from the handles notch, then disconnect the harness from the trunk release switch. Next there will be a reinforcement panel, remove that as well. Finally locate and replace the combo flasher from behind this panel. It is a black box that has a harness connected to it with a pink wire, a black and yellow wire, a red wire, a dark blue and pink wire, and finally a black wire. To help locate the flasher either turn the turn signal on or apply the hazards and listen for its location.

Flasher or turn signal switch

When you select left or right do any of the bulbs come on? If you select left check front and back left side if one of the bulbs did not come on the flasher will not work. Change the bulb that is out. Same with the right. If the fuse for the turn signal is good (check fuse or replace do not use visual, some appear to be good but are not).
The emergency flasher is different from the turn signal flasher. Look at manual for location of turn signal flasher. If you manually lift and lower turn signal control you may hear a clicking under the dash to locate the flasher.

1994 devilles flasher location

Turn signal flasher module is behind dash left of steering column near chime module. I have a 94 Seville and I had that same problem you need a Turn Signal Flasher Moduel, I forgot the proper term for it but I had to get mine replaced too. When I hit the signals to turn the side light would come on but the signal light wouldn't. Its a little box you get from Cadillac it only cost like $20 - $25 and you get it installed and trust. It'll work again. I just got mine done this week and my car now has turn signals again.
