HOW do I get the radio to pick up stations- the antenna can be up or down and there's nothing but static.

Antenna motor has been a little faulty- or the mast is seems slightly bent. Radio turns on fine. - output only static- Stereo plays cassettes just dandy. Illumination is fine. IN FACT- ALL IS WELL BUT HAVING NO STATIONS PICKED UP.

The first thing to check is make sure it is connected in the vehicle behind the radio once you have made sure you can check back to ask further questions, but don't ask another one come back here to comments. This is where to start with this connection also checking for corrosion at the same time.

2014grand caravan fm stations all static

Most likely the antenna lead has come unhooked from the back of the radio. AM stations will pick up with the internal working of the radio, but FM stations have to have a working antenna to work. Also make the antenna is tight to the vehicle .

Radio has static and tries to pick up just one station a m and fm. 2005 Acura Can it be antennae

The alternator is most likly the problem. If it was ok before and you had the alternator replaced the problem should be the new alternator. The above answer is if static is your problem. If you can not pick up stations there is a good chance that you have a antenna problem.

Radio makes a noise but will not pick up any stations. Would it be the antenna?

Most likely the receiver inside the radio. When antennas come loose, the radio will still pick up a signal when you thumb through the stations. There will be static, but you can hear the station.

IS ONLY PICKING UP STATIC RADIO SIGNAL. ALL STATIONS

Yes you have to have an antenna. Does the car not have one originally? If you changed the radio you would have unhooked a large black wire in the back of it. Or maybe it just came unplugged. Anyways without one it won't pick up ****. Good luck

Installing a new Sony radio/ cd player. Several post reference an internal "antenna booster" but cannot find anything about which wires to supply power to this booster. Please help, can't get...

here is some free advice, antenna boosters simply amplify the radio signal AND the static so there is no increase in sound quality, plus they pick up all that nice spark plug noise. the upshot is that if you spend money to buy one you will find yourself taking it back out and tossing it or pawning it off on some ****** via eBay.

I went to a car wash yesterday and now the radio in my 1998 Acura CL has lots of static on it. What is the solution?

There is a chance your antenna is loose. Try to tighten it and see if that helps. It might need adjusted
