Simple things 1st
Check your heater/ac fuse under the drivers side dash. Your owners manual will show you which one. No manual. look foe blow 20, 25, 30 amp fuse and replace.
Hope this helps Mike

SOURCE: saturn ion blower motor

lower settings as far as speeds for your blower motor go through a resister block to reduce the voltage your blower motor receives to make it turn slower. If it turns slow on high you would have to check the voltage at the blower motor, should be the same voltage that would be at the battery. There could also be material in the blower motor fan like things a mouse could have put there. Causes the fan to spin slower and also blocks the fins from pushing air. Any strange noises would be heard unless you have had the prob since you owned it and could not detect any changes. It could be even full of stuff and still
be in balance. but it could be a few other things.

SOURCE: 2006 Saturn ion 2 won't start.

You will have to pinpoint what the engine is missing...
- Spark
- Fuel
- Compression

All three of these are tested when the engine is being cranked over. There are two way of checking for fuel. Fuel pressure and fuel trigger. Both are very important and must be present for the engine to start. Fuel pressure is self explanatory. You just hook up the gage and see what the reading is. Fuel trigger is check with a noid light. The injector gets unplugged and the noid light gets plugged in to the injector clip. With the engine cranking over, this light must blink. This is the signal to the injectors from the computer. You can have all the fuel pressure in the world, but it wont matter if the injector is not pulsing gas into the cylinder like it should.

Compression tester, spark tester, fuel pressure gage and noid light are all accessible at your local auto store. All three tests play a very important part in diagnosing a no start condition. Be extremely careful when doing these tests.

I have a 2008 Chevrolet Nubira 2L Diesel with air con problem. I am told it could be a blend door actuator. Could you let me know where this is or do you have a better idea. Thank you..rogerlines

If the A/C just isn't blowing cold, then yeah, the door that covers the heater core isn't closing. That actuator is vacuum actuated and on top of the heat/air box under right side of dash and is possible to reach. Check also and firstly, that you are getting vacuum to the 4 inch round black ball under hood on passenger side to see is it getting vacuum to and from it and going thru the firewall to the control levers. No vacuum, nothing will work on the heat/AC. Other blend doors are same setup and maybe a lever action also for vent and defrost. Good luck Bro.

AC is only blowing through the defrost vents in the dashboard?

I think your problem is the head unit that selects where the air comes out ie. Face, floor, defrost, or hi-level face and floor. If that's not working then it will not let you switch location that you want the air to come out.

I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette and the front Air Vents do not blow out anything at all. There is no A/C heat or defrost. Would a low compressor cause this? The rear vents are blowing out air as...

The blower motor is either bad, or if you hear it blowing in the front but nothing comes out of the vents, then it's a vacuum motor problem. The flaps aren't angled right to allow air to come out of the vents (either for a/c, heat, or defrost).
