The door lock on the inside won't budge. It is stuck somehow. The key won't turn from the outside.
Unfortunately not much. If the door will not open from inside/outside, it will most likely be a lock issue. In most cases, the door will need to be disassembled for access to the interior components. The door is not designed to be disassembled while closed. If put into the wrong hands for disassembly while the door is closed, you most likely will end up with interior panel damage which could cost more to repair/replace than having a pro complete the repair fist hand.
Would a locksmith be able to repair?
I wouldn't think so. It is not the keyed part of the lock causing the trouble. It will be the lock actuator assembly inside the door. Most repair shops should be able to handle this type of repair rather than going to the dealer. It may be possible to open the door using a slim jim from the outside if the operator has knowledge of the internal door lock workings. Do you have AMA? If so, these companies will have slim jims for door unlocks that may be able to get the lock open
