SOURCE: can a toxic fume filter send a megane 2 into limp mode

Not directly, but the engine ECM and Transmission TCM are connected, so if the engine is running badly, this will effect on the transmission, and may confuse the TCM and make it go into limp mode.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: 2002 chrysler town and country wont leave limp mode

try getting a new shift solenoid for it. i had the same problem on my 2002 chrysler town and country and my plymouth breeze which is also a dodge product. it is very simple to do and doesnt take all that long. the part will probably run you about 150 to 200 dollars but it should fix your problem.

SOURCE: error code P0093, no fuel leak, filter changed

Hello! #1; The injection pump inlet hose has been known to kink which will cause this fault...The line is foam covered...#2; Have you changed the Fuel Rail Pressure Regulator?
If so, the connector and its wiring may be open or resistive...The wiring is as follows...Purple White from regulator to ECM pin #42...Yellow from regulator to ECM pin #77...Check with an ohm meter set on X1 scale...Most important is the condition of the FRPR connector...Radio shack has a product called DOXIT...It cleans contacts by merely
spraying...No-touch cleaning...Excellent product...$14.95...Two spray cans (small) one cleans the other protects...Not much is necessary...Also clean the connector for the Fuel Pressure Sensor...Wiring; Tan...Orange/Black...And Yellow,,,

SOURCE: trans stuck in limp mode i'm getting a p1751 code

P 1751 Shift Solenoid" A" performance. The solenoid is part of the transmission valve body and yes if this solenoid fails you will get limp mode. The only solution is a new solenoid may be even the wires to it or even the transmission module

SOURCE: 2006 Ford Freestyle wrench light comes on and goes into limp home mode how do you fix

There is no way to get around a proper repair on a computer controlled transmission, that is wishful thinking. What is the fault code that is memory? Have you even run the system scan yet?

Engine light comes on occasionally & power is affected. Replaced Cat converter 2 yrs ago But has re-occurred Anything else could this be?

engine light on can be from either the engine or transmission as both activate the light and the loss of power is the ECM going into limp mode

How can you tell if a new gearbox is needed other than a Ecu which has been replaced

have the fault codes read first
if the car is moving in limp mode with no obvious noises or problems , replacement of the box is a total last resort
light on the dash and limp mode can be transmission or engine or both but the fault codes will show the problem area
The ECU -- engine control unit or ECM --engine control module gets messages from the transmission control module ---TCM--and that TCM controls solenoids and servos , vss and other items that if faulty will put the car in limp mode
read the fault codes

My 2008 cadillac srx engine light came on and engine power reduce took it to the dealer so they changed the crank shaft sensor but its still not working, can you please help me

if they didn't read the fault codes before starting work, they are repairing by replacement and that is not good
if a sensor is faulty and it could be a cam shaft sensor as well as a crankshaft sensor , normally it misfires or stops altogether
the ECM is in limp mode and that reduced the engine power and if there was a sensor problem it would not just reduce power and put the light on but would show up in a define manner
engine lights also come on it there is a transmission problem and that will also initiate the limp mode
have the fault codes read to determine the faulty part/ sensor

Astra randomly cuts out at lights and engine May be sluggish, randomly code is P0093,FUEL RAIL SENSOR?

This diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a generic powertrain code. It is considered generic because it applies to all makes and models of vehicles (1996-newer), although specific repair steps may be slightly different depending on the model.
When the computer sets this code it senses a large fuel leak in the high pressure section of the engine. The ECM in a diesel always monitors and controls the fuel pressure from the fuel injector pump to the injectors as long as the engine is running.
To set a code P0093 the ECM must sense a sudden large drop in fuel pressure within the system. This drop in fuel pressure can be internal, external or caused by a faulty sensor signal to the ECM.
When this happens, the ECM sets the code, goes into fail-safe mode which will suspend the fuel injector pump operation and allow one minute to pull over before it shuts the engine down. It will remain in fail-safe mode until the key is off.
The engine may run again but investigate the problem first. This problem will not correct itself or go away. The engine could shut down at any time or speed.
Unlike gasoline engines with fuel injection pressures of 30 to 50 PSI, diesel engine fuel pressure runs up in the Megapascal range, from 4,500 to 30,000 PSI. It takes very high fuel pressure to force fuel into the high compression cylinder of a diesel.
As you progress in diagnosing the problem be always mindful of the fuel pressure when the engine is running. It is ridiculously high! You have a code P0093 stating there is a large fuel leak in the system. Use caution when sticking your nose under the hood of a running engine with this code, or wrenching on the fuel system.
Symptoms Symptoms of a P0093 diagnostic trouble code may include:
  • Code set and malfunction indicator lamp illumination (check engine light)
  • Engine will enter fail-safe mode and shut down within one minute
  • Possible large loss of power above idle
Causes Potential causes for this DTC include:
  • Fuel injector failure
  • Fuel line common rail leak
  • Fuel pressure sensor malfunction
  • Fuel pump or lift pump failure
  • Fuel heater constantly on
  • Fuel temperature sensor failure
  • Leaks at any point in the high pressure circuit
  • Electrical connector corrosion or seating problems
  • Fuel pressure regulator malfunction
  • Fuel filter plugged dropping the fuel line volume
  • Injector pump leak
  • Fuel control actuator failure
  • Cascade overflow valve malfunction
  • Short in the electrical harness at the injectors or to the ECM
  • Fuel pressure limiting valve
  • ECM failure
Diagnostic Steps & Possible Solutions
  • Start with the engine off and doing a walkaround inspection for obvious fuel leaks between the fuel tank and the engine.
  • Lift the hood and check the oil and level. If the oil level has risen, smell the oil. If it is heavily contaminated by fuel, an injector most likely failed in the open position. Do not start the engine again until the oil and filter is changed.
  • Look under the hood for leaks. Start at the injector pump and follow the fuel lines to the fuel injector rail. Look at the injectors for signs of leaks.
  • Pull the electrical connector off the fuel pressure sensor and look for fuel in the connector. A failed sensor will allow fuel up through the sensor into the connector.
  • Check when you last changed the fuel filter. A plugged fuel filter will drop the volume enough to set the code.
  • Check all electrical connectors on the sensors and wiring harness to the injectors for missing insulation, corrosion or loose connections. If no obvious leaks have been found, go online and look up the TSBs (technical service bulletins) for your year and make vehicle. Diesels have no lack of problems as the TSBs will indicate.
Look for the code and associated repair procedures and probable causes. Chevy and Dodge reads like a book. The TSBs will include recalls on various items as well.
Look at your warranty. Most diesel engines have long warranty periods for various items. Many cover injectors for 7 years or better and 200,000 miles.
The dealer is the next step if no deficiencies are found. Checking the fuel pressure and the operation of the ECM takes special tools for a diagnosis.
Tip: Diesels outlast a normal gasoline powered engine when properly serviced. But they demand service at specific intervals to operate properly. There is no free lunch with these. Do not use any seals or gaskets that are not OEM. The pressures and temperatures call for the use of certain materials resistant to these temperatures and pressures.

Ecu box passat

ecm goes bad it will go in limp mode, vechicle will run poorly check engine light will stay on vechicle wont start.you need to use a code scanner check for ecm fault code, if check engine light not turning on when you start vechicle could have blowed ecm fuse or wiring problem, could have loose connection at ecm electrical connector or ecm getting poor ground but first check for a defective ecm using a code scanner.

I have a saab 2006 that has went into limp home mode, and has been plugged into a computer and is said to have a throttle position sensor bad. It has been replaced and the machanic cant reset the code and...

heres the sad part of electronic controlled engines. i had a problem with my olds cutlass . one day it needed an egr, week later it needed an 02 sensor, few days later it needed a vss sensor.....................after talking to a QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN ~ i bought the 100 dollar ecm (brain) and the problems all went away. the ecm was bad and was giving out a different code everyday.
if yours went into limp home mode ( your chipset is loose or bad) wires to ecm can be loose / dirty or wet / an electrical spike zapped something in the ecm lots of possible problems. my camaro only goes into limp home mode when i take out my chip, or when someone kicks the ecm. of course i program my own chips, and leave the ecm sitting on the passenger floor. it sounds like you have a microchip problem on your ecm, making it go into limp mode
