I just bought a used 2002 Pontiac Aztec the dic is in french how do I change the language to English

It means you have 4% engine oil life remaining, and that you have your Driver Information Center language set to French.
You need to change, or have changed, your engine oil and filter, and if French is not your language, change the DIC display language to English in the language settings.

LANGUAGE: To select your choice of language, use the ENTER button to move between the optional languages. The languages are English, French, German and Spanish. Choosing a language will display all of the information on the DIC in the desired language. When you have made your choice, press the MENU button for at least one second to record your selection. The initial setting from the factory is ENGLISH.

ENTER: The ENTER button is used to reset certain functions and turn OFF or acknowledge messages on the DIC display. The ENTER button also toggles through the options available in each personalization menu.

Have a play with the remote control ,its their somewhere to change the language or only use DVDs with a english soundtrack

If you don't have the driver info center, you turn the key on and press the odometer and hold, then press it again to change the language.
If you have DIC you use the buttons under the display to change it.

1. Press and hold the personalization button (2) and the trip information button (1) at the same time. The DIC will begin scrolling through the languages. Each language will be shown in that particular language (English will be in English, French will be in French, etc.).
2. When the preferred language appears, release both buttons. The DIC will then display the information in the language that was selected.

To select your preference for display language, press the select button (bent arrow symbol) while LANGUAGE: ENGLISH is displayed on the DIC. Pressing the select button will scroll through the following languages: • ENGLISH (default) • FRANCAIS (French) • ESPANOL (Spanish) Choose one of the available options and press the customization button while it is displayed on the DIC to select it and move on to the next feature.
If you accidentally choose a language that you do not want or understand, press and hold the customization button and the trip information button at the same time. You can also scroll through the different languages by pressing and holding the trip reset stem for four seconds, as long as you are in the odometer mode.

There are two square buttons on your dash, just to the left of the steering wheel. Press and hold the left until it blinks and it will allow you to set up the languages and such.

You should be able to go through the menu where it goes to LANGUAGE, and click english. I had one here ealrier today. Its all in the owners manual.

Unless your Rendezvous is Canadian made, you can use the SET button ont he DIC to toggle between English or metric. A Canadian odometer and trip odometer will remain in metric units only. Hope this helps.
