How to reset the, SERVICE ENGINE SOON light on a 2003 Nissan Murano.

It means time for a service.
Take it to your Nissan dealership for service.

You need to find out what DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes are stored , have them fixed . Then the service engine soon light will go out !

Take it to your local auto parts store and have them hook up the code scanner and some of them will tell you they're not allowed to do the reset but I just tell em it's cool...just reset it. Some won't do it at all so just go to a different store, someone is bound to do it.
Or you can buy a OBD scanner of your own and reset it yourself.

Find out why the light is on. I have had a few with the large air inlet hose disconnected between the air filter and the engine.

Most cases it's a throttle chamber issue. Most likely your service engine soon light is on. You should have the code checked to verify. If I am correct and it's the throttle chamber, it will need to be replaced and the truck will need a idle relearn. This can only be done at the dealer.

Check your coolant levels 1st, on both cars. If you've already changed out the T-stats, then you need to move on to the temp sensors, might be bad, but if your check engine light is on, pull the codes and see where that points you.

without using the scan tool you can do it by disconnected the the battery for ( 24 h) to reset it or to ( 5 m) to reset the service engine light but the fault sty in the memory
