I own 2007 Mazda b4000 truck vin number 4F4ZR47E07PM06875 6cylinder v 6

USA VIN good. (front problem only()
4H fails.,
owner knows what part time 4wd does and does not do , good
but wheels up tests fail
and did not do that with brakes (left foot ) dragging brakes test to force all 4 tires to spin even in air.

if have limited slip, DIFF (mazda L S D) no need to do the brake trick ,L S D is dead or hub locker.
but (car option1 cheaper axles)

if "open center"diff axle do the brake drag test if fails fails one tire dead front, the automatic axle lock is bad on dead wheel.

this device is the front AXLE autolocker, (hard to find now but here it is) hard buy and hard to find photos.
there are many kinds of axle lockers.(besides L S D)
manual (on end of axle are super reliable)
auto locks on end (funky at best) some are plastic junk.

locker inside the axles case (both elecric or vacuum )
like my jeep had. 1999
this car had 3 systems 1990 to 2010
which one is there is anyones guess.
I would need to look,
facts online on Mazda are super lacking. tons of fords
GOOD LUCK to you,!!!!

I have a 1993 Chevrolet Suburban and four wheel drive isn't working

The most common issue with these years would be the front differential actuator. But there are several things that could be the source of your issue.

03 Trailblaze LS 4WD w/Selector switch.

2003 Trailblaze LS 4WD problems ,but what 4wd option was installed new, the VIN + RPO list tell tells that
what are you tires touching, ICE, dirt or snow or hard pavement.????????????
first time you using 4wd or only this truck first time ever, no history told
the RPO code is NP8 for some version of this car the VIN code will tell you RPO list. and what box is here.

246 is yes FULL TIME and 6 and end means computer control wet clutch in the box.
they used 5 different transfer cases that model. care. so says GM parts oem online

avoid 4Low until you learn its limits, and avoid any selection called lock center differential tires on pavement

Transfer case troubleshooting

no year.????
what are tires touching , ice, nah, dirt? must we guess?????
its and offroad vehicle so we need that. data.
both front tires have zero torque? to the ground or what.?

you can check this out on jack stands.
put it in 4wd and make sure the front drive shaft spins, does it.>?
yes, good, no then transfer case
yes then front axle lock failure. the FSM covers all this.
my wanglers all have part time 4wd drive. not AWD.
so do the testing on dirt or damage the transfer case.
wind up is bad.
the car has no center differential. so do not drive it on pavement ice free. in 4wd. or bam, bad happens.

Wont go in four wheel drive

what does won't mean?
  1. The lamp don't come on. (the lamp can be out)
  2. actual 4wd fails , that is, the tires don't turn, up front, under power, id bet you didnt check? actual 4wd actions?

which one.? which 4wd do you have.? and what mode did you select.?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_four-wheel-drive_systems

on Part time, you cant drive on dry pavement in PT 4WD.
got Part time? I think not, but??? dont know for sure....
Guessing:
i bet you have select track (no GRAND in title)
quote:
Selec-Trac offers full-time all wheel drive in addition to the part-time 4WD of Command-Trac. Full-Time all wheel drive has the ability for the front and rear axles to rotate at different speeds, making driving on dry and wet surfaces possible year-round without shifting back to 2WD again. It still has the ability to lock the front and rear axles.
end quote
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

do not use COMMAND-trac on dry pavement. its for ice or offroad only.

Four wheel drive don't kick in

neither does my perfect, 04 GV , ever.... when.........
this is like the 1000 post for 4wd, an not one states
the road conditions. what are you driving ON >?
this car has Part time 4wd , NOT full time.
that means it's not to be driven on dry pavement in 4wd.
the operators guide tells you that.
PT 4wd is for ICE/SNOWpack and offroad, only.

what will happen if you do try to use 4wd is.
1: it will not engage.
2: or will engage but will hot dis-engage due to....
3: wind up. Suz, even has a UNWIND TSB !!!
TSB is a trouble service, bulletin.

dry means , ICE free

Four wheel drive engages and kicks out, light comes on and stays on and then kicks out the transfer case shifter

I would suspect you have a bad wheel speed sensor or a speed sensor defective... do you have an ABS/CheckEngine/4 wheel drive light on somewhere on the vehicle display... That might help fix the problem.

Imitsubishi shogun engaging 4 wheel drive

no year?
never drive, part time 4wd on pavement, unless said pavement
is ice or snow covered.
only AWD allows pavement (tires direct upon) driviing.
part time 4wd is for offroad , off pavement driving,
this is because 4wd has no center differential.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four-wheel_drive

and with out such, winds up the drive line fast. and breaks it.

wiki states (no year stated by you)
Part-time four-wheel drive was standard on all models. to 1991
then came
ActivTrak 4WD
cept
4H (high-range full time four-wheel drive), 4HLc (high-range four-wheel drive with locked center differential) and 4LLc (low-range four-wheel drive with locked center differential
so do not use LOCKED on pavement. on active track. only 4H
the wiki states the Super-select is retained 2006 to present.
Super-Select 4WD II

read the glove box manual under 4wd

Difference betweeb 2wH part time 4wd and 2wH + full time 4wd

The difference between 4WD Full-Time and 4WD Part-Time is not exactly what one would guess simply from the names without knowing. The main difference is basically an added differential in the transfer case vs. the front and read driveshaft being locked together.

Here's what that means to you.

4WD Full-Time (open differential in transfer case)- Is great for snow and ice. It is safe to leave locked into this mode anytime, even on dry pavement or highway.

4WD Part-Time - This is the traditional type of 4WD that you have in vehicles. It will give you added traction offroad, it's good for mud, rock climbing, snow... It is actually not as good on ice as 4WD Full-Time. Do not drive on dry pavement, especially around corners, in this mode. It can cause major damage, and at the least will cause unnecessary wear to the components.

I hope this helps.
