Car starts then shuts down immediately. dash lights do not come on when switch is turned on.

The antitheft system is acting up. Right now all you can do is cross your fingers and pray that it will start. A common problem is a part call a SKIM mounted in the steering column it goes bad and causes these symtoms. it will have to be replaced. It is a part of the antitheft system that commonly goes bad.

SOURCE: auto shut down relay

Oil Light comes on when the Pressure drops below a certain amount. If I was a betting man, I would tell you to test your CRANK SHAFT SENSOR.

SOURCE: chrysler 300m oil light came on while driving and the engine then shut down. the oil light is still on the dash and the car wont start. turns over fine just dont run

Are you SURE that it was Oil Light then Engine Shut off? There is not a ENGINE SHUT OFF if the light comes on that I am aware of and I have worked on quite a few 300's.

I would be trying to start the vehicle by:
Verify Fuel Pressure
Spray Starting Fluid in the Intake and see if it starts then
Are you sure there is Spark?
CRANKSHAFT SENSOR went bad

Replace the ignition switch. It has lost power to the run position. The reason for no lights and dieing when you let go of the key.

Radio pops shuts off, lights dim up and down, bells ring, several lights on dash off and on, I pulled blinker to turn on bright lights and the car immediately down shifted.
Sounds like a charging system failure. Check battery and voltage while it is running. Should be 13 to 14.5 volts.

My 2000 nissan maxima starts then turns off after about 2 to 3 seconds. If i start it and press the gas to see if it stays on it then immediately turns off.
Sounds like possibly a security issue shutting the engine down. Is the security light on the dash on ?

you probably shorted a wire somewere or bad ground best place to start is with the trailer hookup look for any burnt wires or bad grounds.

The first thing that comes to mind is that the dash lights scroll dimmer is scrolled all the way in one direction which manually shuts off all the interior lights, even if a door is opened. At night turn on the parking lamps and then scroll the dash lights dimmer until the dash, radio face, overhead console, etc is brighter. Turn off the headlamp switch. Shut off the engine and exit the vehicle. Interior lights on? Hope this helps.

Low oil pressure will not cause the alarm to set and shut the engine down, usually if there is a switch turning it to off disables the alarm and lets the car start. If the oil light on the dash goes off when the engine is cranking or after it starts chances are that there is no problem with the oil pump. I need to know what the problem is exactly at this time, does the engine turn over but not fire up or does it do nothing at all when trying to start it? Do the dash lights turn on when the key is on? I have a 97 Chevy Blazer w/ 181,000 miles. When
if the key is getting stuck its the Brake Shift Interlock Solenoid its just under the ignition switch you have a short in it you can unplug it or replace it what its doing is over heating the solenoid and at times it can drain your battry.and for the trans acting up you could have a short to one of your solenoids or it could be the trans filter.

Overhead lights
check you dimmer switch. the dimmer switch is what controlles the interior dash lights and dome lights. you might have acidently hit the switch and it may have pushed it up from the position it was at. if you push the switch all they up than you interior light will come one even if you shut the car off and pull the key. turn the dimmer switch all the way down and see if it still does it. if not than wait until it gets dark and go outside and turn the swich up until ou can see the dash lights. but remember if you turn it up to far the interior lights will come on.
