Why dose my 2012 Dodge charger RT ABS light stay on

I have this problem all the time , and its because im a sloppy auto tech, when I replace my front brake pads and sometimes I need to disassemble the rotor in order to take the pads and brake fluid out , when reassembling I always forget to put back the abs sensor correctly , its a wire connected to a toggle sensor that goes on the rotors teeth to measures 1's and 0's or on's and off's, make sure this is properly installed and positioned or you will have this problem and more, like your abs system will not work when you need it to work, unskilled and sloppy mech like me do this all the time , good luck

Can you bypass a wheel bearing sensor

you can but it will not put out the abs light on the dash. I guess this is why you want to bypass.

How do i reset abs light on 2001 dodg caravan

Most ABS sensor problems are due to dirt accumulation on the face of the sensor, a cracked "tone" ring, bad connections inside the electrical connectors, or an break in the wiring harness.

Start by wiping all the metallic particles off the face of the sensor with a dry rag. Then check the notched tone ring with a bright light and magnifying glass to look for cracks. Then disassemble each electrical connector and look for corrosion, oil accumulation, or bent pins. Reassemble. Then take it for a spin to see if it resets.

I want to disable the abs on my 2004 ford E450

Not sure why you'd want to do that, but it is a fairly simple thing to do. All you need to do is unplug one of the wheel sensors. Usually the plug is just inboard of the wheelwell. Follow the wire from the hub back and you should find it. ABS systems have self-diagnostics and if they sense a problem (which unplugging the sensor will certainly create), the system reverts to a limp-home mode, which basically bypasses the ABS function. The dash light should come on steady, indicating the "problem", but the brakes will operate normally, less the anti-lock function.

Hi can i bypass my ABS on my Fiesta 2009. My brakes only works rite when the ABS lights up on the dash....Before it lights up the brake are hard then you have to pump it a little the brake was bleeded

Lots of ways,,
Just pull the fuse ,unhook a wheel sensor, unplug the control box,
Anything to cause a fault,
As long as the ABS light is on you will have normal base brakes.
(I prefer mine like that)
Be sure the RED brake is not on however.
Hope this helps.

98 cavalier abs sensors on back tires. need to take off to see if they need cleaned. can't see how?

I am a little confused...you say 98 Cavalier, but it is posted under 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix???

No matter....In EITHER case, you are wasting your time. The wheel speed sensors are an integral part of the bearing and hub assembly. You cannot disassemble them to do any "cleaning" without destroying them.

Abs light is on and want to find out why is this a wheel sencer or could it be the abs pump this also turns off my allwheel drive

the abs light is tripped by any computer-recognized problem within the abs system. a wheel sensor tends to be the most common cause of an abs light. while the light is on, the standard brakes function normally but the abs system is completely bypassed. the best way to diagnose this is to plug the vehicle into a code scanner. any decent shop can perform this service, or you can purchase a scanner at an auto parts store or online. if you do go that route, ensure that the scanner you purchase specifically can interpret abs codes

2002 Mazda Protege ABS & Brake light

It is most likely caused by one of the ABS wheel speed sensors, those little cylindrical nipples on the back of your rotors with the cable attached to them. One way to confirm it is to read out the OBD2 codes for the ABS system, but there are some checks you can do. Visually check all four cables and sensors , and make sure there is no build up on the sensors. Make sure that the connector they plug into has good connections. Look at the wheel speed sensor and make sure the gap between the sensor head and the sprocket is the same on all four wheels (should be no more than a mm). Disconnect the wheel speed sensor cable and use an ohm-meter to check the resistance of all four sensors (they should all be similar, but don't remember the value exactly). There is a way to just disable the ABS by pulling out the 60A fuse, but if you do that you may have to plug in a code reader and use a grounding jumper on the ABS electical access box (don't remember which pin) to reset the ABS faults, otherwise you won't be able to drive around like that because your engine rpm at high speeds will behave erratically. Also, do not drive around without fixing this problem or bypassing ABS completely because it could get you into an accident. My ABS problem was intermittent, and the ABS would sometimes kick in on completely dry pavement as soon as I touched the break pedal, it almost caused me to rear-end a car on couple of occasions.
