My key will not come out of the ignition,I don't want it to die, and the reminder was dinging as I got out. Has anyone else had this problem with a Chrysler Sebring?

E steering wheel a little bit back and forth when turning the key to get it out. It may have partially locked. Spray a bit of WD 40 into the lock barrel. Don't use CRC as it will wash out the lube in the lock and the key will stick even more...

I have a 2005 nissan maxima. The door remote stopped working. I cant reset it. I recently changed the alternator. Does that have something to do with it, is there a fuse I could check? Anyone have any...

Check the storage, or electrical parts fuse below the steering wheel area. Replace the remote battery, pay attention to polarity. there is a plus + sign on the back case. then hold the lock and unlock button few seconds untill lights on car flash. then when you replace the remote , to program a new one, close door, use lock button on door to lock, put key in ignition, then remove ten times untill the turn signals flash, then put key in, turn ign to 1st position accessory, then push a button on 1st remote, then unlock lock with door button, then push a button on second remote, turn off ignition open door the it is done. be sure that car battery has more than 12 volts and test the key in reminder does ding and work ok when key put into ignition sw. when trouble shooting

2001 s10 will jump start. After it sits, I try to start it, it won't start, but the ignition keeps dinging after I turn it off and take the key out. I can jump start it and the dinging stops.

its sounds like a bad ignition switch-try to jiggle it and see if its stop after you have turned key off- also those dinging sounds are to warn you that you have left something on -usually headlights or maybe even your dome lights which would account for your battery dying

Ignition alarm

I would say the switch is what you talking about
replacing,not the key cylinder

DO YOU TURN KEY HALFWAY WAIT FOR BELL TO FINISH DINGING AND THE TURN AL THE WAY ON A 99 CHEVY BLAZER

Forget the dinging & just use the vehicle as you
you would any vehicle

If you have a problem provide some detail, as that
question is strange in it's self

You have to have your seat belt on

All vehicles ding when the key is turned on
They are reminders to do certain things, wear
seat belt,remove key,turn off lights,etc.

"1999 Buick Century" unknown dinging draining

It's probably your ignition not being exactly disconnected when you remove the key.Until you get a new ignition (keyswitch),just jiggle the switch with your fingers after you remove the ke7y and see if the dinging stops. my Aerostar has that problem right now. don-ohio

I have a 2003 Chrysler Town & Country and I just changed the battery. It now dings when the door is open with the lights off and keys out of the ignition. Whats wrong?

Changing the battery is probably just coincidence to the key warning.
The key warning alarm (ding, ding ding sound) is supposed to only happen when the key is left in the ignition and th e door is opened; to remind you to take the keys out.
However, over the passage of time, dirt can articulate in the key way and cause the warning switch inside to stick and cause the alarm.
Try this:
  • With key out, tap or rap on the steering column with your hand. This might jar the switch loose (This is commonly referred to as "get a hammer" method-joking)
  • Try spraying some silicone lubricant into the key way and working the key back and forth to see if this clears the switch.
Please post a comment here to let me know if this worked, ok. Thanks J

The 'ding-ding-ding' that sounds when you don't fasten your seatbelt goes on as soon as i put the key in the ignition. it only stops when i have the engine running or the key setting that runs the battery...

You don't. It is there as a reminder to use your seat belt, you know that. Disconnect it and fail inspection in some states. You can thank all those poeple who never worn seat belts 30 years ago when it became a law,for the warning buzzer you don't care for.
