Need to put fuel cleaner, treatment " heet " from auto store. Moisture in tank. Also,
carborator retains water. Must drill small holes on bottom of plastic cover. Water gets in and the spark plugs don't fire. Then seal the carborator with heat resistant sealant. Check or change the electrical connections to the EGR valve. It worked for me after these are done. Poor design of carborator on this vehicle. Eileen T. NY

I drive a Nissan 1400 bakkie (not a champ) i drives good and then starts jerking and wants to die as soon i i give petrol it sounds like its smothering

hi, personally ..i love that bakkie. Ok you changed points condensor, petrol filter! please check.. When it cuts out 1. if the ignition coil is not hot, if so thats your problem.2. also on the carb... over the needle and seat there is a tiny filter... somtimes gets blocked. 3. also check when it stolls if the fuel pump is not hot or pull the outlet fuel from the pump
and crank the engine... note if fuel comes out sufficiently.

2002 dodge caravan sport....starts fine but idles rough....try to give it gas and it smothers out

Any check engine lights on? When you are giving it gas and it dies, that is either because there is not enough airflow to support the extra gas, or there is not enough gas to support the extra air. So check the filters for air intake and the fuel pump pressure. The pump is in the gas tank so it is a real pain to replace. It could be the injectors too.

Car dies while driving, has full tank of gas, but all power dies in the car as well, including hazard lights

If the lights are flickering I would be checking for a loose or dirty battery connection. If the power to the cpu is intermittent ( indicated by flickering lights ) that is why the engine dies

You should check to see if there is coolant in the holding tank. If not then get some ready mix coolant (50/50) and fill it to full. Run it alittle to see what happens. If you see bubbles in the tank then stop as you probably have a blown head gasket. If no bubbles then remove the radiator cap (once cooled) and fill the radiator. Run it this way keeping an eye on the holding tank. Keep the holding tank at the full mark. Run the heater on full while doing this too help cool while your filling the system. If your holding tank and/or radiator are full then you have a stuck thermistat or something worse. Good luck!

My 2000 Tahoe will not crank unless you have over 1/4 tank of gas, last week it started dying while driving down the road, After 100 miles it died and then got more frequent and now dies after a mile. It...

Try replacing the fuel filter first and the primary fuel filter screen in the fuel pump may be dirty also. As for the the one in the gas tank which is a part of the fuel pump, your just going to have to keep the gas tank half full and add some fuel injector cleaner to the gas tank for the next feet fill ups. As for the fuel filter along the frame rail on the drivers side, they have a life of 30,000 miles or 1 year and needs to be replaced within those recommended intervals. Good luck and hope this helps, Note: the gas is what keeps the fuel pump cool, so low fuel in the gad tank will have the fuel pump run hotter causing it to fail prematurely

Turn 92 Escort 5 speed to right & engine goes dead even in a curv

if you jack up the right side of the car while its running does it die?...........just thinking that maybe the pickup has fallen off of the fuel pump in the gas tank so when the fuel moves to the left side of the tank the end of the pump may not be immersed in fuel.
hope this helps...keep me posted its definitely an interesting problem.....Good luck!
