How do i replace an oxygen sensor on 1993 cadillac deville

The OXYGEN sensors are right between the EXHAUST manifold but before the catalytic converters. Apply PENETRATING OIL and let them soak BEFORE REMOVING.

SPECIALTY TOOLS LOAN PROGRAM is available at AUTOZONE.

I used my (40 year old) Snap-On crows foot tubing wrenches.

My car ('95) threw codes for "an oxygen sensor"... I bought the expensive ones with the appropriate connectors... so I would NOT have to cut, splice... or solder anything.

Turned out to be a wonderful idea because it DID NOT fix my problem (restored the old ones and put the NEW away as good-tested SPARES).

(Spares: added plugs, cap, rotor, plug wires & fuel injectors... 2)

My problem turned out to be a collapsing CATALYTIC CONVERTER... which ultimately failed well enough to totally prevent the car from STARTING AT ALL..

While YOUR car is still running you might want to stop by the "muffler" shop... and have them check your EXHAUST FLOW...!!

I'm just saying (would have saved me a couple thousand $$$$$).

Since it is a 1993, you will really have to heat sensor base up to remove it, threads get very rusty and carbon ed up. A lot of the time you actually break the threaded boss(base) right out of the exhaust pipe while trying to unscrew it, with an extended wrench or power bar.
