What has to be done to eliminate recurrent DTC P1336?

I replaced the camshaft sensor after hearing Ford had problems with it. Cleared code drove 12 miles and got same code. Then replaced crank sensor thinking it was faulty. Now if I drive between 10 to 30 miles same code appears p1336. The crank sensor is pretty straight forward on its mounting. No adjustment needed. The cam sensor cam with a tool to align it, which I used. After clearing code and driving short distance same code p1336. What am I doing wrong. Any suggestions and help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

The first thing you probably should do is get a copy of the shop manual for your year and model. The manual would have the actual test procedures for the code.
You probably know code 1336 means the signal from the cam and crank sensors is not aligned, meaning the cam timing is off as far as the engine computer can see.
It could have been one of the sensors, but you normally get another code for that sensor too. It could also be a timing chain problem, or a wiring problem going back to the computer.

2002 Trailblazer, 4.2 I6, code P1345, voltage does not change to cam position actuator 12+ volts all the time?

If this DTC sets, there is a problem with the camshaft position actuator solenoid high control circuit shorted to voltage or the solenoid stuck open.
The PCM sends a pulse width modulated 12 volt signal to a (CMP) actuator solenoid in order to control the amount of engine oil flow to a cam phaser passage.
Do you know what a pulse width modulated signal is ?
Diagnostic Aids
Important: Scan tool control of the CMP actuator solenoid is inhibited when DTC P1345 sets.
The following conditions may cause this DTC to set:
• An improperly torqued harmonic balancer
• A mis-built or mis-timed engine
• A loose or missing crank damper bolt
• The camphaser solenoid stuck open
• The camphaser stuck in a position other than 0 degrees
• The camphaser does not return to 0 degrees within 16 seconds

Do you know what a diagnostic flow chart is ?

If this DTC sets, there is a problem with the camshaft position actuator solenoid high control circuit shorted to voltage or the solenoid stuck open.

Jumper the low reference circuit of the camshaft position actuator solenoid to a good ground. Refer to Using Connector Test Adapters in Wiring Systems.
Does the pintle inside the CMP actuator solenoid move?

What is trouble code P1336

Here's what I've found about this P1336 code:
P1336 Crankshaft sensor is out of sync with camshaft sensor test
If you get this code, the first thing to check is your distributor especially if you have an imported vehicle. Look for signs of oil in the distributor which can contaminate the signals being monitored by the ECM (engine computer). Check also the wiring leading to the distributor and see if the wires are properly insulated away from hot exhaust which could burn the wires. Check also on the crank sensor location whether it is located in the front of the engine or at the flywheel at the rear of the engine. The same can be done for the cam sensor.
On engines with distributor, the cam sensor is usually located in the distributor and it will give you a lot of grief if not properly align and synchronize with the crank sensor. On some applications (like Ford), an alignment tool is required which is can be bought from your local parts store (cost about $31). If you install the distributor without proper timing, it will still run but the mileage will suffer and the above code showing up.
Your local trusted mechanic or Ford Dealer should be able to resolve this for you (if you can't) without too much trouble.

How resolve a P1336 DTC on a 2005 Ford Freestar

Do you have code P1336 and poor driveability (ie misfires, surging like the trans is drpopping in and out of overdrive). if so you may need to relearn the pcm?
Did you by any chance change the plugs and wires, did you also replace the coil? Also, did you bump or pull the connector for the camshaft postion sensor? Could be it's just coincodence and the sensor just went. Not 100% sure, but I beleive that the cam sensor is used in a sequential fuel injection system to tell the ECU when to turn on an individual fuel injector. If the ECU doesn't detect a signal from the cam sensor, it will default to a batch fire mode, where all 3 injectors on either side of the engine will fire simultaneously causing misfires?
If you can't reprogram the ecu replace the camshaft sensor.

Engin light is on when i check it by computer it gives me error P1336 [25,10,13,36] , please refer to relevant terchnical manual

The crankshaft position (CKP) system variation learn feature is used to calculate reference period errors caused by slight tolerance variations in the crankshaft, and the CKP sensors. The calculated error allows the powertrain control module (PCM) to accurately compensate for reference period variations. This enhances the ability of the PCM to detect misfire events over a wider range of engine speed and load.

The code P1336 is for a Crankshaft (CKP) and/or Camshaft (CMP) position sensor input signal to PCM concert. It is triggered if the input signal to the PCM for either of these sensors is erratic. Per the factory service manual, this can be due to:
- a damaged PCM
- damaged CKP sensor
- damaged CMP sensor
- base engine
- harness concerns.

The service manual suggests checking the following items:
- harness routings,
- alterations,
- improper shielding,
- or electrical interference from other improperly functioning systems.

To properly check the operation of the CMP and CKP, you'll really need an oscilloscope. The code is probably being triggered due to a faulty sensor or connection and not something that just needs to be reset.

Diagnostic Aids:
The CKP system variation values are not stored in the PCM memory after a learn procedure has been performed. If the actual CKP variation is not within the CKP system variation compensating values stored in the PCM, DTC P0300 may set.

The CKP system variation learn procedure is also required when the following service procedures have been performed, regardless of whether DTC P1336 is set.
An engine replacement
A PCM replacement
A harmonic balancer replacement
A crankshaft replacement
Any engine repairs which disturb the CKP sensor relationship

If the CKP system variation learn procedure cannot be performed successfully, check for the following conditions and correct as necessary:
A damaged reluctor wheel
Excessive crankshaft runout
A damaged crankshaft
Interference in the signal circuit of the CKP sensor
A coolant temperature that is not within the Conditions For Running the DTC
The ignition switch is in the ON position until the battery is drained
A PCM power disconnect with the ignition ON may erase the stored value and set the DTC P1336

I would think it would be just the Camshaft Position Sensor.I looked up the codes and they say pretty much the samething.
