1996 Camry was running fine yesterday.This morning it wont start.

Check all fuses includeing main fuse if all good. While cranking check for spark if spark present check for fuel pressure , if no spark test coil if coil is good I would suspect a bad computer if no fuel pressure you have a bad fuel pump

run fault codes and look or cam/crank position sensor problems Check that the cam shaft is turning( broken timing belt) check the immobiliser operation

Low fuel pressure or problem with spark plugs or crank sensor is got dirty and needs cleaning or its time to replace crank sensor.

weak alternator not charging the battery fully or an elictrical item in your vehicle using the power , like a light or radio etc

First check the things you need to fire. fuel, spark. First check to see if fuel pump is kicking on have some one help you. while they turn the key to the start position (dont start) You listen back by the fuel door or with a ear down low. You should hear a whining type of noise for about 5 sec and then it will go away. This is your fuel pump pressuring up. if you dont hear anything you probably have a fuel pump out. I recommend taking it to a shop for this kind of repairs. You can also buy or rent a fuel pressure gauge and check pressure under the hood. To check for spark you can pull a spark plug a test with a spark plug test. These are pretty cheap at the parts store. also test fuses under the dash and under the hood with a test light. A good rule is check the simple things first then maybe have it diagnosed at a shop best of luck hope this helps ya.

Sounds like a relay or sensor. It could be the Crank Shaft Position Sensor which is usually the culprit.
Do you have any check engine lights on? If so, then I would have codes read right away to determine exact problem location

I HAD SAME PROBLEM SOLVER OF MY MOMS 1996 CAMRY ABOUT HORN GOING OFF AND CAR WOULDN'T CRANK. JUMPED IT OFF AFTER A FEWW FRANTIC MOMENTS OF HORN HONKING-- FOUND OU IT WAS AN ALARM THING AND YOU CAN SHUT IT OFF BY TURNING IGNITION KEY TO ON POSITION AND MOVING TOGGLE SWITCH AT DRIVER KICK PANEL TO OVERIDE THE HONKING HORN PROBLEM--STILL NOT SURE WHAT CAUSED IT TO DO THIS AT BEGINNING. BATTERY WAS FULLY CHARGED AND HEADLIGHTS REAL BRIGHT TOO. COULD HAVE BEEN A DOORLOCK MANUAL MALFUNCTION--BEEN OK FOR A WEEK NOW.

how is the crank sensor on it is it loose

test your battery if it is fine then it is your altenater
