How do I ...locate the fuel pump of my infiiti G20 1992

It's in the gas tank attached to the float assembly.
Somewhere on the gas tank, find where the tubes connect. They'll connect to a round disk shaped thing about 5" to 6" in diameter that's bolted to the tank. The pump is one of the things attached to the other side of that disk inside the tank. The rest of what's attached to the other side of that disk loosely resembles a toilet valve assembly in a toilet tank.
Google images for "1992 infiniti g20 fuel pump float assembly" to see what it all looks like. Google again but leave off 'float assembly' to see pictures of just the pump.

Fuel pump insalllation

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Jack
  • Safety stands
  • Wrench
  • Socket wrench
  • Pliers
  • Screwdriver
  1. 1 Jack up the car and support it with safety stands. Be sure the car is high enough to get the tank out from underneath the car. You could use a car lift instead. If you use a lift, you will need an automatic transmission jack or a second person to help you lower the tank to the ground.
  2. 2 Unclamp and remove the filler and vent hoses from the gas tank. Most are held on with aero type hose clamps. Unplug any wiring to the fuel pump and sensors. Using wrenches or pliers, remove the fuel lines at the pump. You might need to lower the tank one to two feet to remove the lines and wires.
  3. 3 Support the gas tank with the jack. Use socket wrenches to unbolt the gas tank straps. Remove or reposition the straps out of the way of the tank. Lower the tank some and check to make sure all lines, hoses and wires have been removed. Continue lowering the tank and place it on the ground.
  4. 4 Clean the tank area around the fuel pump assembly of all dirt and debris. Release the pump assembly retainer. This may held to the tank with a clamp, a slip ring or screw nuts. Remove the pump assembly from the tank. Drain any liquid fuel from the assembly and place on a work bench.
  5. 5 Remove the pump from the assembly and discard or replace the entire assembly. Some pumps can only be replaced as a unit. If you can replace just the pump be sure to install the new sock filter that comes with the pump.
  6. 6 Return the repaired pump assembly to the tank. Use new gaskets or O-rings if supplied. Secure it into the tank with the retainer.
  7. 7 Place the gas tank back onto the jack and raise it to the car. Reinstall the fuel lines, hoses and wiring. Continue raising into its cavity on the body. Secure the tank with the gas tank straps and tighten with a socket wrench.
  8. 8 Reinstall the filler and vent hoses. Tighten the clamps. It is a good idea to also replace the fuel filter at this time. Lower the car to the ground. Test for leaks and repair any found.

Where is the fuel filter on a 2005 volvo s40

There is no external fuel filter for this car. It is actually a fuel pump and filter assembly located in the top of the fuel tank. The genuine part number for the complete assembly is 30792725. It will also need the O'ring that sits below the assembly part number 8638939. This is straight from the Volvo Vida information... Hope This Helps.

I need to know how do i change a fuel pump on a 1994 lincoln town car

  • First, you need to make sure you only have a gallon or so left in the tank. Siphon off the gas into an approved container.
  • Place the car in jack stands for easier access to the gas tank.
  • You will need to remove the fill hose and vent line from the filler neck.
  • Place a floor jack under the fuel tank; remove the straps that hold the tank in place. Carefully lower the tank.
  • You will need to remove the gas lines and vapor lines going to the tank. You may need a special tool for this. You can purchase at a local auto parts store. The tool is placed on the fuel line then pushed into the connector pushing back the fingers that hold the connector together.
  • After disconnecting lines and wires to tank drop tank all the way to the ground.
  • If you have the old style, you will need a flat screwdriver and a small hammer to remove the retaining ring that holds the assembly onto the tank. There is three tabs to tap on with the screwdriver and hammer. The new style requires a strap wrench to unscrew the retainer.
  • With the retaining ring removed you can remove the assembly from the tank.
  • Replace the fuel pump and the fuel strainer.
  • Assembly reverse procedure.
