Check your fuses. It varies from car to car but you may have a fuse dedicated only to the horn unit. In that case you can just pull the fuse without affecting anything else..

Other than that you will need to pull the wiring connectors off the horn unit and tape them up to keep any moisture and dirt out. Hopefully that will not trigger any issue with the security system.

Disconnect the wire from it. Sound like you need to reset your alarm system. Mine goes wacky when you fool with the battery.

Pulling the fuse should kill it till you find the problem.

My car battery got dead so I bought new battery and tried to replace the old one. As soon as I reconnected the terminals of the new battery the car started making panic horn noise. Its horn alarm goes on...

On some models you can disable the alarm after you connect the battery by locking and unlocking the driver door with the key.
I would disconnect the horn or pull the relay until you can get the alarm turned off.

My horn sounds off and won't stop 'til I disconnect battery cable. Why?

sounds like there's a short in your wiring in the steering column, A lot of times with a tilt wheel a wire get loose or gets a short in it. the steering wheel may have to come off to fix the problem but make sure to disconnect the airbag first, I'm not sure what vehicle you have so I don't know where to tell you to look for the connection, may be best to take to a dealership if possible. Hope this helps.

Horn started honking and wont stop unless i disconnect the battery

Your ground for your horn button in the steering wheel is stuck in the on position and will require dissassembly.

Key will not disengage,it will release only when i disconnect battery and my horn will not stop blowing

get the key out, put the battery cable back on, with all doors closed, go to the passengers side, put the key in the door, lock and unlock it a couple of times, do the same on the drivers side, this should disable your alarm...and should also make it so your key wont get stuck in ignition.. hope this helps

My 1999 sonnata has an electrical short casuing to horn to keep blaring unless the battery is disconnected. how can i disable the horn, and where is it located under the hood?????

Please open the hood and connect the battery momentarily and the horn will tell you its approximate loca tion with its sound. Just remove one of the wire from the horn and insulate it properly to avoid any short circuiting.

My Mitsubishi Montero, 2003 horn is going off in the middle of the night. I beat on the horn pad serveral times until it stops, then in a couple of hours it goes off again and the police show up. Is it...

Is the alarm causing the horn to honk? If so, you need to figure out what is causing the alarm to trigger, which could be any number of things.
Or, the panic module could be failing.
It is least likely to be the horn ring unless the only way you can get the horn to stop is by "beating the horn button on the steering wheel".

If it is, then you can replace the parts for the horn button, but you will need to get an assembly manual for the vehicle. Be sure to disconnect the battery before attempting to remove the airbag module. If it goes off, then you risk injury, and, they are not cheap to replace.

Wont start and clicking

Either low battery, bad cable connection on the battery, but most likely the starter is toast.

Horn starts blowing randomly

do you have a alarm on it. If so you need to disable it or turn it off. Other wise you have a short somewhere in your horn. disconnect the horn under the hood. Its usually upfront and looks llike a flat black circular device that has one wire going to it, unless you have a alarm then it may have more.
