Very cold outside, we used the hatchback all day; but now we can't get it to close. We did try using the button in the glove box - still won't close

2009 toyota corrolla glove box wont close

First thing is first, remove the lightbulb in your glovebox before you kill your battery. On the door of the glovebox, where it locks onto the piece sticking out of the glovebox, wiggle that whole piece, and see if it's loose. If it is, take a screwdriver, and tighten it. It may have just loosened itself from regular use. If it's loose, it won't lock onto the piece because it's just moving up or down when you try to slam it shut. Hopefully this works! Either that, or go to a junk yard, and get that peice out of another car. Simple fix for little money.

Trunk latch broken won't open hatchback, how can I remove panels to access for repair

Most often, access to the trunk is achieved by folding the rear seat down. If not, remove the seat and you'll have access to the trunk area.
If access isn't a problem, get yourself a plastic panel removal tool set from parts store and make sure it's not cold when you remove the panels as they'll be more likely to break from being brittle from the cold. Take your time.

How to replace cabin filter

Your cabin filter is located behind your glove box. To remove your glove box, you will need to locate the two bolts underneath the glove box and remove them. Then open your glove box, and while holding your glove box, push inwards on the glove box stops on either side in order to allow the glove box to come out.
Once the glove box is out, you should be able to look in and see the slim access panel to your cabin filter. Just pinch the ends, and pull the panel out. Reverse for installation. Please let me know if I may further assist you, -TXTEXAN

Hi..i put in the thing in the AC to make it get cool..and hot air still coming out of the vent..its not blowing cold...even the compressor comes on...but only one of the fans come on...can u help me...

The blend door is inside the box where the air flows from outside into the car. The air goes through the air conditioner first, then it goes to the blend door. When the door is open, the air will then go thru the heater and get hot. When the door is closed, the cold air will come out the vents. In this way, the blend door controls how much air goes thru the heater. When you are running the A/C, you want the blend door closed. If your a/c compressor is working but you are not getting cold air, the blend door may be stuck open.
My book shows your blend door is behind the glove box. It also says your door is controlled by a cable. What you should do is look behind the glove box to see what happens when you change the temperature on the panel. It should move a cable behind the glove box that turns a lever on the door. The cable should turn the lever as far as it will go. If it doesn't do that, it is either broken or needs to be adjusted. It may have slipped out of it's clamp. To adjust, loosen the clamp, turn the knob to cold, and push the door fully closed, then tighten the clamp.

Let me know if it doesn't look like what I'm saying or if you have other questions.

How do you close the rear window of 2000 mazda

I would look on the dashboard for a button labled rear window or on the center console. If you have the truck manual in the glove box, go to the index and it will tell you what page to look.
