Aftermarket clutch kits for this vehicle run $500-750 and about the same for labor to remove transmission and service clutch and plate...allow $1500 for this repair.Dealer price for parts and labor could double this estimate...good luck

ON THE NEWER LAND ROVERS THERE IS PLATE YOU CAN REMOVE TO CHECK THE CLUCH. IT IS NOT THAT HARD TO REPLACE THE CLUCH,BUT PRTS ARE HARD TO COME BY. THE D110 CAME TO U.S. IN 1993 AND D90 CAME IN 1994,95,97. SEARCH FOR LAND ROVER PARTS ON THE NET.

STOP.

You will need a rear main seal / rear engine seal.RIGHT NOW!!!

You will need to drop the engine + trans to get to the rear engine seal.

It's not a EZ job.

Do not salvage any clutch part because that are soak in oil already.

You will need rear main seal, clutch set and lot of labor to get back on the road.

Great barging power if you are doing the working yourself,

My land rover defender 110 v8 is over charging the battery, what is wrong with it?

The alternator regulator is faulty. You will need to take it to a auto electrician to repair it or just replace the whole alternator.

Hi , I am considering purchasing a 1986 Land Rover County wagon (110 Defender), the engine is a petrol V8. What sort of fuel consumption should I expect or can you direct me to a www that may have that...

The car you are looking into has the same engine as this car (link) http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/sbs.htm The gas millage on that car would be 12MPG (city), 14MPG (highway) and a combined gas millage of 13 MPG. Hope it helps and please rate the answer if it was helpful to you, thanks!

Unsure if this is the paint part number BTR0171

if yours is a defender 110 then thats a rare machine .. there were only 500 in the country. ..
here is some good info on identifying all land rovers
http://www.roverparts.com/How_to_Identify_Rover.cfm

this is info on your defender
http://www.roverparts.com/Model/Defender110.cfm

under ..body parts.. they show lots of stuff for land rovers but little for your model since its so rare.
they claim they have a full line of parts for the defender so maybe a call to them might hit pay dirt

some interesting stuff about the defender here including some colors ..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_Rover_Defender#Special_editions

here is some paint colors for 93 land rovers
http://www.automotivetouchup.com/choosecolor/choosecolor.aspx?year=1993&make=Land+Rover&model=All+Models

this gives the color as alpine white and gives instructions on how to find paint codes
http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/PPNUC.cfm

maybe too much information but everything about that machine is so interesting .. and it still has high value .. maybe a classic

Fitting rear view mirror

Hi you can buy little double sided pads to do this but make sure the cab is warm when you fit it.

Alternatively superglue but you will need to hold it in position and tape it up to dry, Pads are the better option. let me know if you need a stockist and I will post you the link.

Squeaking from clutch

hi my name is neil and im time served on land rovers this was a problem with the first ones that came out and it was the clutch that was at fault. it was made on the cheap and needed to get replaced most landy dealers should be able to do the job in under 3 hours but i think the book time was 6 so if you do get it done watch them do it so they dont over charge you.
