Separate mudula all together, your car may or may not be set up with the wiring ( factory wiring ) to install the system. Have your local Ford dealer run the VIN # to check.

How do you set the timing on a 1997 ford crown victoria?

You can not set timing on 97 CV. It is computer controlled. It does not have a distributor the PCM (computer) uses a signal from the crankshaft postion sensor mounted near the harmonic balancer to control timing.
