The pink wire at ignition module goes hot with the key on, fuse protected circuit. Also, black wire with white tracer is ground. Hope this helps.

Isuzu 2ltr bakkie nmbr 2 and 3 no spark?

post 3, adds, no spark , 2/3 (and still no year, no country stated)
bad coil pack?
wired wrong, this pack.
no photo of the engine, nor real name of it, Petrol.
btw, we dont have "BAKKIE" here. not a single one.
nor KB trucks, either.
what spark system this car has, im clueless.
4 coils or 1 pack.? if one pack , replace all spark wires
if one pack system , if either 2/3 wire opens, both cylinders go dead. try new spark wires. high voltage,

or you measured spark wrong, on 1 pack car.
it takes 2 spark plugs do do that. 2 good plugs and 2 good wires,
#2 and #3, due to the fact they are wired, in SERIES.
see its called wasted spark system, with 1 coil pack and no distributor..
the testing is unique. on this, setup.
try new spark plugs, gapped correctly
and 4 new HV wires,
I bet its go. if not the coil pack is toasted.

COIL PACK WIRING DIAGRAM

The coil pack wiring is relatively straightforward though the exact wiring, colours and suchlike will vary a little from car to car.

A 4 cylinder engine will have a coilpack containing four individual ignition coils - one for each cylinder, but they are likely to be wired as if there is only two. This is to simplify the wiring and to cut a little unnecessary complication from the ECU.
Effectively those four coils are two pairs of coils - the primary windings of coils one and four are wired in series and similarly the primary windings of coils two and three.

When cylinder number one fires a spark is also generated by coil number four but causes no effect as that cylinder is at the top of the exhause stroke. This is called the wasted spark principle.

The same effect can be obtained by using a single coil per two cylinders of a type which has a single secondary winding which is completely isolated or not grounded in any way. One end feeds one spark plug and the other end is also terminated in a spark plug wire and terminal.

This simplification means the coil pack (4 cylinder example) is fed by only three or four wires (usually four).

I hope this helps.

Bought coil pack for 92 pontiac bonneville connected wires underneath pack and spark plug wires now will not start at all

Did you replace all three coil packs or just one?
Did you get the spark plug wires in theproper order? (if not it may not start).
What wire did you connect underneath the coil pack (there are no wires under the coil pack). A wire bolts/plugs up to the side of the coil pack.

I have a 2002 ford taurus SE, coil pack has been replaced because Advanced Auto ran a diagnostic and said my coil pack was bad. Well its not and im still not getting fire on #3 and #4 spark plugs. changed...

You visually checked for spark and there was none? #3 and #4 show to be on same coil, each coil fires two plugs. Battery has a full charge? The red wire at coil pack is voltage, it has good voltage? Any applicable trouble codes?
The yellow wires with different tracer colors are grounds controlled by the pcm, one ground for each coil. Did you check voltage on ground wire engine cranking? I can't rule out a faulty coil driver in pcm. It's possible your old coil pack damaged the coil driver in pcm? If that is the problem, hope it didn't hurt the new coil pack.

What is a firing order

This is a quick explanation:

1996 Dodge Caravan
3.3 liter

c17hydro_162.gif

The big rectangles are referencing the engine, the cylinder associated to it's "firing" are the colored circles, and the are also the location of the spark plugs....the smaller lego-looking block is your coil pack. The spark plug wires run from the coil pack to the spark plug on the engine. The wires match 1 to1 or black to black...and so on....

When these are matched to each cylinder/spark plug and it's wire leading to the matching coil pack position, this is it's "firing order". If one of the wires is "crossed" meaning, not 1 going to 1, then the engine will "miss-fire".

How do I replace a coilpac on a 1998 for f150?

Hi there,

First of all, make sure the ignition switch if off. Then you remove the ignition coil electrical connectors from each coil pack. Then you number or label each spark wire so you can put them back in their original location. Then remove all spark plug wires from ignition coil pack. Then remove the ignition coil pack, four mountain screws and remove coil pack

Hope these help.

They are usually bolted down with a 8mm bolt. Remove that bolt, unplug the connector and pull out the coil pack and boot. Some Fords you'll need to remove the fuel rail to get the coil packs out.

Not getting spark

Testing the coil packs.

1. Get an INSULATED wire and hook it to a ground on the car.
2. Get some one to help you
3. pull a spark plug wire off the coil
4. hold grounded wire close to, but not touching, the part where the spark plug wire connects
5. keep hands away from coil and have your helper turn the engine over ( start car and turn off)
6. if there was a spark between the wire and the coil pack it is good. if not, the coil pack needs replaced
7. replace the spark plug wire
8. test the rest
