The Internet, though, has a large number of web sites where
you can buy service manuals and schematics from bookstores,
publishers, and other collectors. Here is just a sampling of
what sites are out there:

web based auto repair manuals
Chilton Repair Manuals
Haynes auto manuals

SOURCE: Installed new low beam headlight and light will

Hi, if you have a meter to check the bulb, use it to check the wiring to the socket or wiring for power when light switch is turned on. You should have around 12 volts depending on year and type of truck or auto. If the old bulb was burned, you should have power there. When you turn on switch, the other side should work and you will know you have power and it may just be corroded. Check this and you should find the problem. Please keep me posted on this, I will be around to help you. Please rate me kindly if I have been of help to you.
Sincerely,

SOURCE: left low beam headlight blew out; replaced it but

I'm not familiar with your vehicle, so I can't tell you where the fuse box is, but I can tell you there is a fuse....That will be the most likely fault on your vehicle.

SOURCE: My Chrysler 300C left headlight low beam won't light up . I've brought new bulbs and still the left low beam light did not glow! I swapped bulbs around and the left bulb that wasn't working now glowed

Check the socket or connections that supply power to the bulb Sometimes the contacts can become corroded. Also, a loose or corroded ground wire can cause a bulb to not work or glow dimly.

How do I fix problem with my right side low beam headlight on 2007 jeep Liberty

Check the wiring on that light. Also check the bulb with a couple of wires to the battery, or swap the bulb left to right to make sure the new bulb is okay.

Headlight Issue on 1999 VW Golf GTI VR6. I just purchased this yesterday and noticed that the lights will not switch from High to Low beam. (High indicator doesn’t switch off) Installed a new Headlight...

Most total headlight failures are caused by a bad component like a fuse, relay, or module. Wiring problems can also cause both headlights to stop working. High beam headlights don't work or low beams don't work. If just one bulb fails to work in either high beam mode or low beam mode, it may be the bulb. Check your manual to find your headlamp relay.

What would cause the low beam headlight not to work when all other lights work?

If you have standard halogen bulbs:

  1. Burned out light bulb; or
  2. Fried wires between the dashboard wiring harness and the headlight bulb connectors; or
  3. Fried headlight bulb connectors.
If you have HEI emitters:
  • Failed ballast.

I have a 2006 civic SI. DRL indicator is on, driver side low and high beam ok. Passenger side low beam ok but DRL and hi beam not working. Any help is appreciated.

When either the high or low beam light is out in either side, DRL (daytime running lights) indicator will come on. When one bulb goes out, that's a clue the opposite bulb will burn out soon, so its best to replace both bulbs. If it was a fuse issue, both left and right side would be out. If driver side is OK but passenger side is not, then its a bulb issue. A 2006 Honda civic takes 9006 (HB4) low beam bulbs and 9005 (HB3) high beam bulbs. Cheapest is online from Walmart site-2-store. After procuring, wear latex, vinyl, or ANY gloves to keep your (corrosive) oil skin from coming in contact with headlight glass bulbs. Your skin oil will chemically react and cause shorter life span on glass bulbs. Instruction don't tell you this, so you handle with your hands, then need to replace bulbs 3 years later instead of 5 years (or more) in the future. With gloves on, pop the hood and look behind each headlight. Turn counter clockwise to unlock headlight bulb holders. Its a quarter to half turn to unlock bulb holder lock. Replace one bulb at a time so you don't confuse high beam from low beam. The wire has a tab you need to lift to pull out & disconnect wire connector. You might need a slim narrow-**** (NOT phillips) screwdriver to lift the tab; or use your house key. Snap the wire connector to the new bulb, then twist into headlight housing to secure bulb holders, then move on to the next bulb to repeat the procedure. Pict below, 9005 high beam is on the left, 9006 low beam is on the right. Handle by grasping the plastic base, not the glass bulbs. The raised potrusion on the bottom center is where the tab locks onto wire connector. Replace all 4 bulbs now, but in the future, its likely the low beam will wear out before the high beam. In the future, replace only the pair, not all 4. The factory installs inferior bulbs that go out sooner, hoping you'll take to dealership and they ******** you with higher parts-n-labor fees. As opposed to Walmart online site-2-store, it would cost you AT LEAST triple in parts & labor from dealership to replace all 4 headlight bulbs :-(

Mazda cx7. both high beams work and one low beam works. how can i tell if its a headlight or some other problem

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. These new lights have two types lin one bulb, one for the low beam and one for the high beam. Find the bulb that isn't lighting for the low beam and replace it with a new bulb. If it doesn't work, you need to check the wiring to that specific light. Since it is only one, the new bulb should work.

The left headlight only works when it is on hight beam not low beam

the low beam element has burned out in the light bulb itself - buy and install a new bulb,, this will fix your problem. ( your local auto parts store will carry the replacement bulb ).

On my `06 Dodge Ram 1500 my left LOW beam doesn`t work ALL other lights work fine. Only low beam on drivers side. I tried 3 new bulbs, didn`t help.

You probably have a bad plug or a broken wire on the low beam of the left side. I would replace the plug for the bulb and run a wire from the low beam on the right side or , locate and bypass the bad section of wire going to the current plug if the plug is still good.
