You need to take it an have a professional type scan tool hooked up an have sensor data parameters checked . Could have a mass air flow sensor problem , IAC - idle air control motor. If the check engine light was on before ,it will come on again , after a couple of start up's from cold to warmed up. Regular gas won't hurt it , maybe some pinging (Spark knock ) But the knock sensor will take care of that . (Retard timing ).
ok if you are runing on the fwy and let go the gas pedal the only air is coming in from the idle valve and on neutral the same ting what about wen you start the car first the rpm is high 1400 or 1500 then going down wen it get hot that car had two valves the cold idle valve and electric valve the electric valve control the regular idle wen the car is hot after the cold valve is closed
well then it not getting fuel into the motor,you may have a bad crab, the needle may be pluged or stuck closed, also make sure theres good gas in it, if gas is getting to carb then it the crab, may need a good rebuild,
i have a 2001 Intrepid and mine does the same thing. I haven't found it to be anything to worry about unless it idles high for more than a few seconds.
my car is choking and dieing coming to a stop its a 81 elco wit 89 tuneport motor vinf i changed the throttle pisition sensor /egr valve/sender/the owner said he change the fulepump. i notice a few times not all the time wen u rev the motor and let off the gas the idle drops then sets itself? and wen u put it in drive to take off if u hit the gas it hessitate a little? i need some help!!! marvin
