After Market alarms are always full of issues especially when the batteries are disconnected of the car batteries are disconnected.

Find a Viper Alarms installer and take it in for reprogramming with their pro grade scan tool computer.

After I lock my car, go shopping and unlock the door, my alarm goes off...how can I stop this from happening?

Try unlocking the door manually with the keys. If problem still happens. Your door or hood switch may be defective. They will send a false signal to the alarm that indicates one is open.

Car alarm goes off when unlocking door

You will needs to think of it this way. Once you set your alarm it is looking for the corresponding signal to disable itself. That comes from the fob. If you don't use the fob and just use the key, the alarm system is doing its job and alerting you since it has not received the disable command from the fob. Either lock the door with the button when you exit the car if you want to use the key or use the alarm fob. This will also happen if you use the car manufacturers fob to unlock the car if you have locked it with the alarm manufacturers fob.

Hope that helps - I have hidden all of my original car fobs to help alleviate this problem!

2000 blazer keeps locking and unlocking by itself

Sounds like you have a short where you are moving the wiring. Remove tape/wire loom from the harness and see if you find bare or broken wires. They are very prone to do this in the wiring between the door and the body. Repair problem wires and you should be okay. Alarm is most likely being triggered by the same short. Happy hunting!

Alarm goes off when i lock the car

This car has a feature that can automatically lock your doors after you leave your car unlocked for a period of time – this can be turned off. I had the dealer do it but I am sure if you check the manual it can show you how to do it yourself. The alarm and locks on this car are very sensitive and often break so if this problem isn't resolved by deactivating the auto lock then I would have a mechanic look into it.
