Hi Calvin, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

Calvin, I was reading your about your heating problem and when you said you had heat coming from the vents all summer long, this told me what your problem could be.

Here's what I want you to do! Because this is a common problem with ford. FIRST: Remove the glove box. Behind the glove box you'll see a white actuator with a lever on it. you will also see a metal cover, remove that cover. This actuator is what controls the heat and cool air from the vents. NEXT: Watch the actuator while moving the control on the head from cold to hot and see if it moves both ways or if it doesn't move at all. If it doesn't move replace it. If it does move all the way cold and all the way hot then let me know and will go to the next step to solve your problem. Hope this helps and please visit my auto-repair-website here: http://www.bigasautorepair.com/

2001 Ford Windstar lx heater problems

What type of problem? No heat or no air from the vents ?

No heat could be the system low on coolant or the coolant not getting hot enough or there is a restriction in the heater hoses or a control valve is not letting the coolant flow through the system. No air flow could be a bad switch or blower motor or the vents actuators are not working.

My heat works on all settings whenever it comes on, but it can take up to an hour for the fan to kick in.

If the engine itself is running on the hot side, that's could be a thermostat/ heater control valve. If the engine itself is running up to par (cooling system, fans etc) sounds like a heater control valve issue.) Inside fan works well, no odd vent smell (rotten eggs). Heater control valve. Good luck Frank M

1996 Montero Heater Blower not working

I assume your heater setting is electric control, if so either your defrost and floor heat switch failed or wire problem. For the air not hot, check the heat control valve on the top of the hose it should be in front of the firewall. I don't know your car is using mechanic valve or electric control valve. Anyway check there first. Good luck.

2008 Jeep Liberty-My heater was barely warm-blowing fine tho. Was told I had a plugged heater core and needed a new one. Had a new heater core put in and then my air conditioner stopped blowing cold air....

I woild be checking the vent controls as if the ac is working and the core was blocked then the air would be cool when the heat was selected but not changing Fixing the heater has resulted in a /c not being good enough to cool the air if the vent is not properly selecting. The point is that if the vent selection is not working properly (vacuum hoses) then the 2 faults will be related.

1993 olds cutlass supreme international 3.4 dual overhead cam, no power at controls for heater, comes on then off and no blower at all. fuses are good.

Sounds like a bad ground to the heater console. Have you checked connections to the blower resistor? Are any of them rusty? Use a voltmeter and measure from a good ground to any metal place on the heater control assembly. Do you measure any voltage? If so, you have a bad ground!

My heater is not working in my 2001 honda civic. Is it my thermostat?

Does the heater blow cold air from the vents or do you mean the there is no airflow from the vents? cold air from the dash vents when the heater control valve is set fully hot could be an air pocket in the cooling system. The radiator sits slightly lower than the engine causing air pockets to get trapped in the engine when you replace the coolant. you'll have to purge the cooling system to restore flow to the heater core. No airflow (blower motor inop) this could be a bad blower motor transistor. pin test the blower motor circuit.

Can not find heater control valve 2000 expedition

what year? for 2000, there are no control valves. It mixes a/c air with heater core air to blend the right temp.

SECTION 412-02: Heating and Ventilation 2000 Expedition/Navigator Workshop Manual
DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION Heating/Defrosting The heating and defrosting system has the following features:
  • Controls the temperature and, during A/C operation, reduces the relative humidity of the air inside the vehicle.
  • Delivers heated or cooled air to maintain the vehicle interior temperature and comfort level.
  • Controls the A/C blower motor speed.
  • Cooling or heating can be adjusted to maintain the desired temperature.
  • Uses a reheat method to provide conditioned air to the passenger compartment.
  • The blower motor draws outside air through the A/C recirculating air duct, except for MAX A/C cooling, when recirculated air is used.
  • All airflow from the blower motor passes through the A/C evaporator core.
  • The temperature is then regulated by reheating a portion of the air and blending it with the remaining cool air to the desired temperature.
  • The temperature blending is controlled by the temperature blend door, which regulates the amount of air that flows through and around the heater core, where it is then mixed and distributed.

The blower works and a/c works but no heat comes out

If the blower is blowing air just fine, but you cannot control the temperature, you need to listen to air coming from the vents while turning the temperature from hot to cold. If you do n ot hear any change in airflow, then you may a temperature door in the dash broken. this is becoming a common problem on the Equinox

Cant turn the heating down

need to find out where the heater control valve is located (it normally is near the engine inside the hoses) and see if that is sticking and if you cannot free it up replace it
