What does SRS stand for? Light are flashing on the dash.

Hi. Are you sure it is SMS? I've never seen an SMS light in one of those vans. I have seen an SRS light. If it really is an SRS light, it means Supplemental Restraint Systems or Airbag Systems. If it really is an SMS light, could you take pics so I can see? I own a 2000 odyessy and I might have an SMS light. To make it a short answer, the airbag light must be turned off by a scan tool or if the problem the light is referring to is repaired or does not occur, the light will go off by itself when no fault is recorded.

The warning chime of 5x5 is a sign that the SRS ( airbag ) light is burnt out, and there is an error with the SRS system.

If you are talking about the SRS light, the LFC ( light Flash Code ) 27 is :

Passenger Air Bag Deactivation ( PAD ) warning lamp shorted to ground

Have you done, or had any work done in the dash area as of late ?

The PAD light cannot illuminate, so the truck is reporting the code via the SRS LFC.

Start with the PAD lamp, and work you way backwards on the wiring harness, looking for a wire that has the insulation damaged, and making contact with the dash frame.
Could be right at the PAD lamp holder also.

This will take some time, but should be an easy fix.

Well thats one of two things. First the srs light stands for Supplemental Restraint System or in otherwords the airbag system now the light being on could be because its due for a maintance check up or there could be a problem with the system

SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System. It has to do with everything that is related to the airbags: Sensors, Control units, Seat Belt pre-tensioners and passenger detection systems (if your car has one). When the car is started, the system will go through a series of self-tests to make sure that the entire system is working properly. The SRS light will either flash during this test or remain on steadily during it. If there is one thing that failed at this test, the light will remain on and I understand that your airbags will not work while this light remains on. You need to have it checked at a dealer, but be prepared: it will cost some money to check it and that's before they discover if anything is wrong that caused the light to stay on in the first place.
