If the engine won't crank at all check your battery leads for cleanliness and tightness - particularly the black earth lead where it also connects to the bodywork/engine block.

If the engine still won't crank get somebody to boost-start your battery using their car. If your car then cranks and fires up it is probably your battery at fault: either discharged or it has failed.

If your car won't crank when being boosted it may well point to a cable/start motor/solenoid problem

Solenoid does central locking. Remove door trim to access door lock solenoid. Check to see if its just the drop rod fallen off. If its all there get solenoid checked while the trim is off.

Hi, the best thing for you to do would be to remove the battery and give it a full charge using a battery charger doing this should get your car back to normal, as using jump leads dont always switch the imoboliser off as its not running off its own battery fully, so the best things to do would be to go and buy or borrow a battery charger and remove the battery from the car and put it on charge for a few hours, or you can leave the battery on the car as long as you undo the terminals while u r charging the battery, then once its fully charged you need to shut all the doors and windows and lock the doors, then unlock them again, doing this should reset the imob and then this will allow you to start that car and should have you up and running again.

if your car runs on diesel then let me know as if it is and it has run out of diesel then you need to pump the diesel back round the engine using a priming pump under the bonnet, without doing this it juts wont start and your battery will keep going flat,

Providing central locking works when you insert key in lock,try programming keys
Enter car make sure all doors/windows are shut
Switch ignition on and off,remove key
PRESS AND HOLD UNLOCK BUTTON ON KEY
Press lock button on key 3 times whithin 10 seconds and release unlock
Central locking will lock/unlock rapidly to confirm reset
If your key is the type with bmw logo in the middle battery replacement is not possible,as it charges as you drive

you will have to get a set of jump leads on to battery some how and then try unlock it

Either you have a completly dead batt. or your starter is shot.. You can not jump a car with a flat dead Batt. but a BOOST PACK will....it's all about the AMPERAGE.

try a new battery and clean the battery terminals. the other problems could be caused by a bad battery.
