A little longer before cranking.

what does that mean?

dont crank,
cranks slow.
cranks (Fast) called normal.
cranks fast starts, then stalls.
cranks fast, starts easy, starts, runs and stays running, normal
at what point does it fail, and how exactly.

we can't hear it, or watch you, so...................................

Dirty terminals, happens all the time. Did you have the battery tested? Or just know it's OK? Did you check the water? How about the electrolytes? Get the terminals cleaned off with a wire brush, and scrape the insides, make sure they are tight. I have replaced more batteries this week, must be the weather. One was stone dead, 5 volts and still started the car?? Couldn't believe it, good car. The other 2 were dead with 12+ volts but wouldn't start anything, both got new terminals, and both got cleaned up. NO problems. Check it out. Lastly, the solenoid in the starter could be bad if everything else checks out, whack it with a hammer while turning the key, if it jumps, you found it.

Why is my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo V6 so hard to start?

your problem may not be electrical at all... have you done fuel
pressure test ? simple things like a blocked fuel filter or pick up, will be trouble starting. also check fuel pressure regulator.

My 2003 hummer has a ''hard start'' it takes about 6 seconds for the engine to turn over. I did a full tune up on it, wire, plugs etc, but no luck, what do you think?

If you mean that the engine cranks over for 6 seconds before it fires up, that sounds like a fuel situation. You would need to install a fuel pressure gauge and turn the engine off for several minutes and see if pressure drops. The pump has a check valve that keeps the fuel line pressurized until you start the engine again, if that valve is bleeding off pressure it takes longer for the pump to prime the fuel system, hence your long crank. Could also be a regulator or fuel injector bleeding pressure. Good luck!

Isuzu Tune up

Spark plugs every 100,000 miles, air and fuel filter 30,000 miles, inspect ignition system components when plugs are changed, replace as necessary.
