Engine Light Stays On

That's because the car is putting itself into "limp"mode. Take it some where to have the code read without the code number it tells me nothing.

I don't think it is your catalytic converter because your light usually flashes and a bad cat I never heard of them causing a misfire. I ran your other code it is for a faulty EGR system. Exhaust gas recirculation excessive. You are getting too much exhaust gas back in the system. This will cause your misfire. Go-to a trusted mechanic and have them check out your EGR system.

What type of Honda Civic do you have? There is a difference between the LX and EX civic exhaust systems. And your vehicle will not pass inspection with your check engine light on.

the check engine light stays on if there is trouble codes in the computer it could just be a simple miss fire that triggered the check engine light to come on i would have a shop or auto parts store check the computer.

It is possible that the emission problem that triggered the check engine light has something to do with the car not shifting into high gear. You need to have the honda scanned for codes to see what exactly is wrong, correct the problem, and see if the transmission issues clear up after the fix. Parts stores offer a free check of engine codes, and can explain what they mean and offer ideas on how to fix the problem. check on the engine around the thermostat housing for a fan control sensor. if your engine fan doesn't come on when the a/c is on, then thats your prob.

you should have it checked at a dealer ...that means that your supplemental restraint system is not active that is your airbags....!!!!!!

This code is not documented so the code reader is giving a false reading.
If the car runs OK and check engine light is not on, I would forget about it.
