Remove hose from thermostat and then there are 2/3 bolts holding it to the housing unit. It is a very simple thing to do but if you dont know how , may I suggest you let a qualified person do the work. Hope that helps

Thermostat housing on a 2008 chevy uplander 3.9 liter

This repair is tedious. You will find the thermostat housing located directly below the throttle body. It is tightly set between the engine block and exhaust crossover pipe. There are two bolts holding the housing in place. The lower housing bolt is the hardest one to remove so remove that one first. Any questions please write back. Good Luck.
