Use the timing marks on the damper for the crank and bring it to 0 on the cam there are marks that correspond with a mark on the head. Look on autozone dot com and put in the year make and model then look at the free repair guides.
Sounds like restricted exhaust--most likely bad cat converter.
Have you checked for fuel delivery to the engine? Test the fuel pressure, the test port in located on the engine in the rail/pipe that supplies fuel to the injectors, the fitting looks like a large fill stem (AKA Shrader valve) on your tires.
Test the battery for load not volts. Use a load tester. If it falls below 9volts under load replace battery. If the battery is older than 3 years old replace it. A bad battery will damage the alternator (full field condition).
