Usually you have to go by the year, make , and model, to order parts , or the vin # , but sometimes there is a label or stiker on the part from the manufacturer . Rarely is the part # stamped on the part, keep in mind that part numbers change all the time, due to improvements or vender changes, or super sessions.

My 99 ford ranger 3.0 wiper not working, please help me

This will be one of 3 things.
Listed in order from most likely to least.

1. Check the fuses, simplest option could be a blown window motor fuse. This will be located in your manual, which will show you fuse box location and fuse diagram / numbers.

2. Faulty wiper motor. Common problem among many makes and models. Replace the whole unit with either a second hand unit or a new one from a parts shop.
Not a massive job on most cars so shouldn’t cost too much.

3. A break in the wiring harness. A damaged or shorted wire somewhere on the wiring for your wiper motor.

My car sounds like knocking noise under the steerin column they dealer claim they changed the steering column but i still hear that noise what is it

It could just be some small amount of bearing play in the steering column. You could bring it to another shop for a second oppinion or take a look at it yourself. If you choose to do it then ask another person to help. With the steering unlocked and the engine of. Have that person rock the steering wheel back and forth until you can hear that noise. Take a look under the hood and try to locate the source. You may want to put your hand on different parts to feel for the sound. !be careful not to put your hand somewhere where it could get pinched or hurt! Let me know how you made out.

Where do i locate the chassis number on 1997 volkswagen jetta gt 2.0 cause i need to buy timing belt and componet kits engine code B

Hi. On 4-cylinder engines, the engine identification number is stamped into the block near the crankcase breather or upper coolant hose fitting. On VR6 engines, the identification number is located directly above the crankshaft pulley, at the top of the cylinder block. The first two (or in the case of later engines, three) digits are the engine code and will be the most useful description of the engine when locating specifications or ordering parts.

Now, if you are trying to locate the vehical VIN, this is on the left side of the dashboard, visible through the windshield. On Golf and Jettas, a second plate is located on the top of the cowling behind the engine.

Diff leaking oil making noise can i get secound hand one ? how much to get it repared

if the dif is making noise, its probably bearing fatigue, due to lack of oil (leak) you can buy a second hand one at a salvage yard, check your local salvage yards, if that doesnt work, try a parts locater service.

HEI DISTRIBUTOR PROBLEMS

on the intake manifold you will see 8 numbers, this is your firing order
from the front of the car the left side numbers are 1,3,5,7 and the right side are 2,4,6,8. now ont the distributor cap there should be a number 1 at one of the plug towers. you start there with #1 plug wireand continue.
on a chevy the firing order is 18436572 and this is the order you put the wires on the cap. now the second problem i don't know right off hand which way the rotor turns on your engine. so remove the cap and crank the engine over and see which way the rotor turns, this is the order you put the wires back on the cap. hope this helps

Accelorator pedal does not work

Its the pedal position sensor.
It is part of a accelorator assembly. Its not a cheap part.

As I see it, your options are (1) buy a new part at great expense; (2) buy a second hand part if you can locate one; or (3) try to repair the sensor.

Computer of my lantra is dead.where i can find second hand (use) computer.i live in corfu -greece.please help.

I can locate one in new zealand relatively cheap for you but that probably isnt too much help. Try EBAY and see if you can find one there. Failing that I would contact a local auto wrecker to see if they have one or can get one.

Let me know how you got on

Cheers
