ALL headlights have vertical and horizontal adjustments. The vertical may be obvious, an M8 shaft. Horizontal may be non obvious, or the adjuster is covered with a rubber grommet. Once you've located the adjusters, find a wall eve on mall car park, and see the low beam to the same height. Check high beam, and a just the horizontal as needed.

How do you remove the headlight assembly on 1995 ford f250?

  • 1.
Remove the two upper screws from the headlight housing, using a Phillips screwdriver.
  • .
Locate the two lower retaining nuts inside the engine compartment at the bottom of the headlight housing. Remove the nuts using a ratchet, extension and socket.
  • Separate the turn signal and marker light assembly from the front grill. Rotate the bulb holders counterclockwise and pull them out of the assembly. Set the assembly aside.
  • Unplug the headlight bulb connector from the bulb. Rotate the retaining ring counterclockwise one-eighth turn and remove it from the housing. Pull the headlight bulb straight back and out of the housing. Do not rotate the bulb during disassembly.
  • Lift up on the headlight housing retaining clips to unsnap them from the headlight housing vertical adjuster studs.
  • Locate the horizontal adjuster at the outer bottom corner of the headlight assembly inside the engine compartment. Loosen the horizontal adjuster until it is free of the adjuster nut.
  • Remove the headlight housing from the vehicle.
Installation
  • Install the headlight housing in the front grill.
  • Engage the horizontal adjuster screw with the adjuster nut and screw it partially in.
  • Snap the headlight housing clips on the vertical headlight adjuster studs.
  • Insert the headlight bulb into the headlight housing, flat side up. Slightly rotate the headlight bulb to engage the grooves in the light with the alignment tabs in the back of the housing. Install the retaining ring on the bulb. Plug in the headlight bulb connector.
  • Install the bulb holders in the turn signal and marker light assembly. Install the assembly in the grill. Install the two upper screws, using a Phillips screwdriver. Install the two lower retaining nuts, using a ratchet, extension and socket.
Headlight Aiming
  • Pull the vehicle to within a few inches of a blank wall, on a flat surface. Apply two strips of tape to the wall vertically to mark the centers of the headlights. Apply a strip of tape to the wall horizontally to mark the center of the headlight height. Back the vehicle up 25 feet in a straight line.
  • Turn the headlight low beams to the "On" position.
  • Adjust the vertical headlight adjusters until the high-intensity zone of the light pattern is two inches below the horizontal mark on the wall.
  • Adjust the horizontal headlight adjusters until the high-intensity zone of the light pattern is two inches to the right of the vertical headlight marks on the wall.

Which way do the headlight vertical adjustments turn to raise the beam?

Turn on your headlights and locate the two adjustment holes that have the adjustment screws inside them on the sides of each headlight. The top hole has the vertical adjustment screw and the bottom hole has the horizontal adjustment screw. Turn the vertical screw clockwise to raise the beam and counterclockwise to lower; turn the horizontal screw clockwise to move the beam right and counterclockwise to move the beam left.

How do you adjust headlights on a 1993 chevy C1500

if you look at the light, there is an adjustment screw at the top of the light that controls the up and down motion , clockwise will raise the beam, and a screw on the side that controls the side to side motion. the best way to center your lights would be to park the vehicle 25 feet away from a verticle wall. be sure to be very square to the wall and on level ground. make a tape line vertically on the wall in very close relation to the center of the vehicle, and another tape line vertically in very close relation to the center of each headlight. now place a tape line horizontally in very close relation to the center of the headlights. start with low beam adjustment. adjust the high intensity zone to 2 inches below the horizontal line and 2 inches to the inside of the vertical line directly in front of the headlight. for high beam adjustment, adjust so that the high intensity zone is centered on the center vertical line and just below the horizontal line. hope this helps

How do you adjust a headlight from pointing up to the right height

VERTICAL AIM ADJUSTMENT
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface approximately 7.6 meters (25 feet)
from a vertical wall or screen directly in front of it.

2. Measure the height from the
center of your headlamp to the
ground and mark a 2.4 meter (8
foot) horizontal reference line on
the vertical wall or screen at this
height (a piece of masking tape
works well). The center of the lamp
is marked by a 3.0 mm circle on the
headlamp lens.

3. Turn on the low beam headlamps to illuminate the wall or screen and
open the hood.

4. On the wall or screen you will
observe a light pattern with a
distinct horizontal edge of high
intensity light with a slight angle
towards the right. If this edge is not
at the horizontal reference line, the
beam will need to be adjusted.

5. Locate the vertical adjuster on
each headlamp, then use a 4 mm
socket/wrench to turn the adjuster
either counterclockwise (to adjust
down) or clockwise (to adjust up)
aligning the upper edge of the light
pattern up to the horizontal line
.
6. HORIZONTAL AIM IS NOT
REQUIRED FOR THIS VEHICLE
AND IS NON-ADJUSTABLE.
