With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section 100-02.
Release the fuel pressure. For additional information, refer to Section 310-00.
Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section 414-01.
Remove the fuel filter.
Push the release buttons and disconnect the fuel tube quick release couplings from the fuel filter.
Loosen the clamp.
Remove the fuel filter.
CAUTION: Make sure the fuel tube clicks into place when installing the tube. To make sure that the fuel tube is fully seated, pull on the tube. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
disconnect neg. battery cable.disconnect alternator electrical plug. note routing of drive belt,see decal on radiator brace or take a picture.remove drive belt
remove 2 bracket to alternator bolts on OHV models,2 bolts & 1 stud bolt on OHC.
reassemble in reverse order.
we just had a simiar taurus in the shop the other day, might be the shifter solenoids. or something electronical about it. i didnt do the tranny work so i dont no for sure. i can ask tomorrow tho
