98 mitsubishi montero, trying to by pass security, now wont turn over, maybe the starter lockout, but cant find diagram to trace correct wires

With the connector halves close together can you tell which wire goes into the connector? Its probably the same color, but check anyway. Once you are sure you can follow that one back to where it comes from and check for power

How was the horn kit wiring harness installed? Was it patched in? Did it have its own wiring harness? Trying to figure out how that kit could have had any effect on the starter.

When the key is on do you have accessory power?

Wiper wiring diagram

Those are accessory functions working off the ignition switch when in accessory position or run position of the key. Were you to check if the wiper and radio fuse had power to them in the run or accessory position as they should, likely they would not. Power from the switch goes to the fuse panel, powering the fuses and circuits that only work with key in on or acc., either a direct wire to the fuse panel or sometimes, fuses get power from an accessory relay that sends power to fuses, but relay has to get a signal from a good working switch before it powers the fuses.
What I'm trying to say, is the bad switch is probably the reason you have no wipers, radio, or mirrors.

How can I test a ignition switch 1992 Toyota pickup 4x4 4cyl. I have switch out

It would be a very small amount. Ohms equals resistance to current passage. What you are looking for in the switch is continuity between certain terminals when switch is moved through all positions. Sorry I don't have the necessary diagram. Check a repair manual for your toyota. There are only 4 positions: off, on or run, accessories, and start. You have a hot wire coming into the switch, and routed out another way by the switch's position, now the run position would have to connect with both run and accessories-...I know I'd have to have a diagram, too many fuzz balls in my head!

EF Ford Fairmont 1996, accessories stop when ignition switched to start

Eg wipers work while ignition switched to 'accessories' but stop when key turned to 'start'

I had this issue and took me ages and ages of wire tracing and probing. Your fuse box should have the wiper/windows accessories fuses. If you probe them and they aren't showing voltage, check wiring harness, check wiper motor voltage. My ignition barrel was the fault of all this, everything worked when switched to "accessories", but while the engine was running, the accessories turned off. The bottom of the ignition barrel pushed out, as the factory stopper groove bent out. All I did was cold chisel a dent back into the case. BAM fixed my windows/starting/wipers all in one go.

Trying to install a push button ignition need to know which two wires to run to the button, without having to spend hours tracing and guessing. A diagram showing the wires would be great.

Your switch has 4 terminals.

1. Red is the hot wire from the battery.
2. Dark Blue is the run wire. This wire powers PCM, and engine and well as all accessories when the key is on.
3. Yellow is the start wire. It powers the engine, ECU and starter circuit when the key is turned to start.
4. Last terminal is accessories. I don't know the color, but it will power the radio, blower, windows, mirrors, etc. when key is turned to ACC. Some diagrams of the switch are below. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Ignition switch diagram 65 mustang

If its not on the steering column, you can figure it out using an ohmeter on the switch leads. Actually, you could figure out the one on the column that way too! just think about what the switch does in each position and attach wires that do it to the post that does it! IE: starter solenoid wire goes to post that is hot when key is turned all the way to start. Main hotlead is the one that is common to all switch positions. run and accessories is to the post that is hot with key on, accessory only is the one only hot with key turned backwards.
