All brake lamps are dead.
and fuses are good. (did you check the right ones, or all?)
what about 3rd lamp?
if they look blown they are, why question that for $1 lamp.
replace lamps that are blown, the filament goes byebye.
fuse #9 is STOP, replace this on suspission
fuse that look ok, can have hair line cracks, we test them with a meter. so as not to guess...
next is this power 12vdc from stop fuse goes to the
stop switch and if stopping (foot brake) the output goes to 12vdc and all lamps on rear (stop)glow.
its cave man simple (unlike new cars that computers do all that)
now my advice, replace all 3 lamps
or take them out 1 by 1 and try them 1 by 1.
because lamps can SHORT and blow that fuse.
all there can be hand for $3,... and a new fuse for 50 cents.

One of two things cause this corroded or poor chassis earth at the bulb holders or the circuit board that holds the bulb is faulty.

SOURCE: My third brake light dosen't work on my chevy s10 94'

I had a similar problem with my 1994 S-10 LS extended cab. Both tail brake lights worked fine. I removed the 3rd brake light cover and tested for voltage at the steel center of the two rivets and found the positive (driver side) negative (passenger side) were good. I checked the two metal strips that send power to bulbs and found the positive side was open. Seems the flared side of the rivet was not making contact with the metal strip. I bucked the rivet with a punch and hammer and it took care of the problem.

SOURCE: tail lights on 2006 chevy silverado don't work

I had the same problem and found out that both light bulb sockets had corroded/burned contacts. After cleaning and applying dielectric grease, they worked perfect again.

I have a 2008 Suzuki XL7 and the rear brake lights stopped working, but the third light on the hatch still works. We have replaced the bulbs and checked the fuse and all are good.

The 3rd brake light and the tow side lights are on different fuses, have you verified that they are both good. The other part that can cause this is the multifunction switch (AKA turn signal switch).

Where is the #24 fuse located at for the third brake light

Year/make/model didn't post. The high mount brake light is not fused seperately. It should be on the same fuse as the brake lights. If it is not working check for a bad bulb. If the assembly is LED, check for power and ground at connector to light. If power and ground ok, suspect defective LED assembly

2008 Suzuki XL 7 no stop lights no powers to stop light fuses, no power to stoplight switch. What can keep power from fuses. The rest of the fuses and fuse boxes have power.

first check the CHMSL/DMR fuse. If that is good look for the brake lamp relay. Remove it. With a test light hooked to ground probe the pins in the fuseblock, One should have power all the time. One should have power with the brake pedal depressed. Connect the test light to power. The other two pins should turn on the test light.

If there is power all the time but there is no power on any pin with the brake pedal depressed than you either have a bad brake switch, a bad BCM (which actually supplies power to the third brake light), or bad wiring.

Brake Lights Won't Light?!

Have you checked the brake light switch by the brake pedal?

Third eye brake light won't work and the buld is new. I've tried location the fuse and can't find on specifically for that, would it be tied to something else?

all of the brake lights are on the same fuse. If the other brake lights are working than the fuse is good.

If I remember correctly this third brake light is located in the trunk lid. I would suspect that there is a broken power or ground wire going to the socket for the bulb. The usually area for this to happen is where the wiring harness flexes when the trunk is opened and closed. I think the connector for the harness is in the same area and I'm pretty sure it is on the drivers side. Take a peak at the wiring in that area. you may have to remove some tape to get a good look. If there are wires broken than a simple repair should get it working again.

I have a 2000 LHS, i was at a stop light the other day and got run into, from the back[just a scratch or two]. later i checked my brake lights and discovered they no longer worked[i had checked them about...

Have you checked for power at the sockets? How about power out of the turn signal switch? Is the third brake light also not working? If that bulb is good and there is no power at the socket than you have a bad break light switch. Check for power in and out of the switch with the brake pedal depressed. You can also unplug the brake light switch and jump it to confirm the lights work.

I can get you the wire colors if you need them.

No rear brake lights, but 3rd one works. Fuses good, relays good, pedal area good, bulbs new, and new circuit board. What now

Im not sure the make ,year or model of your car but , the next thing to check as you already checked the fuses and brake light switch would be to check the wires going into the socket, the sockets go bad often so using a test light the next thing is to check the power and ground right before the socket, check the wires at the end before they enter the socket, if you have power and ground then the sockets are bad. you also know that the brake lights and the third light use diffrent power sorces, so just because the third light works doesnt mean the fuse is good for the other brake lights, good day,
