Do all 2000 cadillac dts have a restrictor plate

the DTS does not have a restrictor plate. it does however have an electronic governor, that can be re programed if you want to by a aftermarket reprogramming kit.

Have a cadie 01 changed water pump and thurmostat and still over heating and running hot any ideas

Try to flush and fill with new fluid to get the passageways free of sediment.

Or, try to see if the fans are coming on at the right speed at operating temperature. May require new fans/relays/wiring to fix this problem.

I have a 1997 Cadillac Deville that was overheating its Northstar engine and it required service amounting to about $700.00 or so from an auto electric shop, but afterwards it ran cooler.

Good luck on this repair.

How to remove the govenor

If you want to remove the speed governor, your going to need a tech 2 scanner or have the car dyno tuned and fined someone who will do it since it's a liability to who ever alters the speed governor. Good luck and hope this helps.

How many teeth on the governor gear for driving the speedometer in the 2004r trans of an 86 Cadillac fleetwood brougham?

Depends on what gear is in the rear end and what size tire. Do you have old gear? They are color coded and have the teeth number on it. You will have to pull it.

Transmission problem

I had a shifting problem. The car would start in the wrong gear and shift at wrong times. I repaced the governor postion sensor and tranny fluid and the problem has been fixed for several years. Did you replace the tranny fluid?
