Was any of the brake light bulbs changed recently, the wrong type of bulb may be used causing a short in the socket, and making the rest of the brake and signal circuit malfunction. I no bulbs were recently replaced, start with checking for corrosion in each bulb socket, signal and brake bulb sockets. Let us know what you find
Check the front and rear turn signals on the left. If both are just as bright as the right turn signals, then the dim bulb is isolated just to the dash. Possibly someone replaced the bulb at one time with the wrong rated bulb. A steady dim bulb doesn't sound like a loose ground. It would probably be going in and out or flickering, and just that one side would not have a separate ground. High resistance in a wire (like broken strands)or a connection could cut the current and cause a dim bulb. If the whole left side is dim, both the dash and the signaling bulbs, start looking for high resistance in that side of the circuit. To thoroughly check it out, probably need a volt meter
If those lights all worked properly before the shop "fixed" it, take it back to the shop and ask them to make it right. If they are reputable, they will correct the problem(s). If not, think Small Claims Court.
Lots of possibilities, but the most common is a bad ground of the entire light assembly on the left rear. That makes the left rear brake filament ground back up through the left rear turn signal ground, through the left rear signal filament, and all the way back up to the dash left indicator light, then finally to chassis ground. Just check if the left brake and left signal are both dim and come on together.
Pull the bulb out of both left side turn signals and check the filaments. As these are double filament bulbs, sometimes the filaments break and lay across the other creating a feedback issue.
