I don't think that the tank is getting filled how do I fix it ?

Sometimes the neck of the gas tank will airlock. Pull the fill nozzle out a little. Sometimes changing gas stations will fix the problem, as the auto-shut off can be set too sensitively.

Why Does the Gas Pump Keep Clicking Off When I am Filling ...

Dec 21, 2021 - Normally air flows through the tube while you're filling the tank. The clicking noise you are hearing is the fuel backing up in the fill tube.

Gas tank will not fill up on 2001 ford expedition

Gas as in gasoline or gas as in LPG gas? If its petrol, the fuel sender may be out of adjustment. (Usually means a new sender) If its LPG, the fuel stations are set to automatically shut off at 80% full. The gas tank will never actually be full to the brim but the gauge should be showing full if the gas nozzle keeps shutting off. Have a look on the LPG tank itself, they have a little gauge on them which shows how full it is. I have 2 tanks on my car , when "full" or when the pump shuts down, the tank gauges show just under full but the gauge on the cars dash shows full (2005 BA Ford)

Gasoline pump keeps clicking off every few seconds

a suggested have the filler and recovery and evap system of the tank filler tube checked out ..could be perished seals or piping
other thoughts
some gas stations fuel pump sniffers can be more sensitive to shut offs than others....the pump sensor is supposed to be tested adjustable or sensor replaced regular intervals
these days the operator wait till there enough complaints before doing anything

the new model cars seem to have more filler neck filling issues
than in the past
could be the smaller diameter of the pump nozzle

could be the temperature of the day fuming the gas in the cars filler tube

I,m having trouble filling my gas tank. The pump keeps shutting off.

The vent on the tank is restricted and the pump nozzle can't take all the air coming from the tank as it fills. Many gas stations across the country have vapor recovery nozzles designed to capture air from your fuel tank and vent it back into the tank under ground, and out the roof vent pipe on top of the building. It's for fuel vapor emissions reduction. Until you put a few gallons in the tank, pull the boot back a little with your fingers to unseat it from the filler neck, then let go and you should be o.k. If it keeps shuting off after that, then you may have a problem with your own vapor recovery system not working properly. Check other nozzles and see if they all are that way. Mabe it's the station.

06 Mustang Gas Tank; Last 2 times I couldn't take in more than 7 gal fuel before filler shut off occurred. After that, filler would shut off after every .1 gal. When at Costco with 10 cars waiting to...

There is a fault with the fuel tanks in the 06 cars (and some 05). It is a well known problem and Ford has issued a service bulletin on the issue.

It also seems to be a problem with the fuel pumps at certain gas stations but not others. Try a couple of different service stations (not the same fuel brand) and see if you have the same shut off problem because some people have found that the pumps at some gas stations do not cause premature shut off when re-fueling their 06 Stangs.

I would contact the nearest Ford dealer service people and see if they will rectify the problem for you FOC even though the vehicle is now out of warranty. In some vehicles the fuel tanks were replaced to fix the problem but not in all apparently.

In the meantime you can try 2 means to resolve the problem that has worked for some (not at the same time).

1. Turn the fuel pump nozzle 45 - 90 degrees when re-fueling and do not run the pump full bore. Slow the fuel flow a little.

2. I would avoid this one and I do not recommend it but it has worked well for some people with your problem. Turn on the car's ignition (not the engine)before you fill the tank . Switch it off immediately you have completed re-fueling.

Fuel fill problem gas pump keeps shuts of when i try to fill

Iown 02 hyundai accent gl 1.6l. Had the problem twice. I used to over fill the tank until I had to spend close to $550.00 USD. The problem is when we overfill the tank. the carbon canister gets clogged and it damages a sensor in the assembly called "DMTL". Thia assy is located under the rear driver side of the car to the left and rear of the fuel tank. Once I replaced the carbon canister, sensor and filter the problem went away. if you let it go for a long time you eventually start smelling gas inside the car after fill ups. Good luck.

Can't get gas into my 2002 Hyundai Accent.

The reason the gas station pump shuts off is when the fuel reaches the tip of the gas nozzle, so when you are filling your car and the gas nozzle (gas stations pipe) keeps shutting off it means that the pipe that runs to the gas tank is not open completely, what happens is when you pump the gas in the car the supply pipe from the gas tank opening to the tank fills up quickly and this causes the gas station pipe nozzle to shut off, have some body take down the gas tank and have a look at the gas tank opening and also gas supply pipe that runs from the gas filler opening ( on the car body) to the gas tank. Have a look at it and please don't forget to rate the answer if it was helpful, thanks!

What brand of gas is the best for a 2003 nissan sentra. Is chevron a safe choice?

some prefer a name brand although I always fill up after 8 AM in the morning at my local station. The reason is the tanks are filled at 7AM at the station I go to giving me the satisfaction no moister from a very low underground tank will get into my gas tank when I fill up. All fuel tanks receive moister in their tanks. The tanks are electronicly read from inside the filling station. They have alarms that sound if too much moister is inside and shut the picticular tanks pump down. Some times they do not shut down for many reasons. One is a over ride switch incase that tank is the only one left with fuel in it especially on a holiday weekend. It has happened to me a few times causing my car to throw codes from the computer and also stalling out a few miles from the gas station after filling the vehicle up. That is why I choose to fill up mine after the station gets their fill up

Gasoline pump at gas station keeps turning off

There is a vent valve located near the fuel tank. The vent valve is part of the EVAP emission system. If the valve is obstructed or failed, air will not escape while refueling.
Has the service engine light come on at all?
