Terrian won't start boosted yesterday and then checked battery and it was charged right up ran good all day. Went to start this am and nothing the key won't come out of ignition

If key won't come out of ignition the problem is most likely park shift interlock. The park shift interlock is a device that won't allow vehicle to be started unless it is in park. Also the cable could be stuck.

Acura Tl 2005 won't start

This vehicle is equipped with a chipped ignition system. On your dash warning lights, when turn key into on position you'll notice a yellow key symbal, it should flash then go out. If it flashes then goes to solid on, it means the system does not recognize signal from key. This can be because of wrong key(original valet key will not start car) or key for whatever reason has been deprogrammed. Which can only be done by dealership unfortunately. If system is working(light does go out) then you need to look at possible brake switch sensor,park/neutral safety switch on shifter, and for signal at started when key turned to start position

I went to get in my hummer this am, the key remote did not work, manually opened lock and then went to start veh and everything was just dead, now I can't even get the key out, would this be the fuses or...

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. You should go ahead and check all your fuses in your fuse box. There is a chance that you activated the security system in the vehicle. It may need reset. If the code isn't in your owner manual, you will need to get the code from the dealership. Since the key is stuck, you may have a bad ignition module or lock cylinder. Make sure the shifter is firmly in park and you could also try moving the steering wheel left to right, while trying to get the key out. I am not sure if the security system can lock the ignition module up. It is possible. If it is not the alarm and the key is stuck, you will have to get a new ignition module and lock cylinder. The part alone is a few hundred dollars. Go ahead and check your a/c fuses. Check your battery and make sure it is holding a proper charge. Clean the terminals and battery post and make sure the terminals are not damaged. Make sure the wires are not damaged as well. When you are checking the fuses, check the entire fuse box. Make sure no other fuses have blown and make sure nothing shorted out. You could have an electrical issue. Once you check the fuses, try looking in your owner manual for a security code. If you can't find one, check the dealership. Make sure you have your VIN number and vehicle info. The alarm could have caused it to not start. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and thanks for using FixYa.

I have a 2005 Malibu and been having recurring problems with the key not turning in the ignition. It happens about once every two weeks and it's a real pain in the **** because I have to fiddle with it and...

I would replace the ignition cylinder. the tumbler are wearing funny and this is causing the key to not turn or get stuck . I believe you have a pass key system on your car too . so after the cylinder is replace or rebuild you may need to do a relearn with the new lock cylinder. Not sure if you can rebuild the key cylinder and if a lock smith would have the right tumbler codes . but i know for sure if you buy the lock cylinder from a dealership they can code the tumbler to match the original key

MY CAR IS ON AND WON'T TURN OFF KEY STUCK IN 2009 COBALT

try playing with shifter. move from park to low rapidly and push to park with some force. try this a few times. the shifter sends a signal to a lock actuator to allow your ignition to release key. if that doesnt work remove your steering wheel lower cover. usually acces 2-3 screws from underneath cover. u will see what looks like a gold pushbutton located near lock cylinder u may be able to get key released by manually actuating that solenoid
