Message centre not brightley lit - 2006 Jaguar X-Type

What make , model and year vehicle ? Do you have any light's lit on the instrument cluster with engine running ? Air Bag . Clock spring problem . Do you know what that is ?

Volts slowly drop to where what quits ,The vehicle stops running ? Is the charge indicator light lit on the instrument cluster /? are any lights lit on the instrument cluster ? The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the charge indicator and the BATTERY NOT CHARGING message is displayed in the message center when the following occurs:
The engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM) detects that the generator output is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a serial data message from the ECM/PCM requesting illumination.

The IPC determines that the system voltage is less than 11 volts or greater than 16 volts. The IPC receives a serial data message from the body control module (BCM) indicating the system voltage.

sounds like traction control problem

Chances are the miniature bulb behind the unit may have blown.

You will need to remove the message centre to check the backlight bulb.

Give some more details of the problem.

Your passenger front door switch is not working. Have it repaired or replaced. That will solve the problem.

the slippery road indicter staying on.
is this lit yellow on the dash .if yes then i hazard a guess i would say you have turned off the traction control , you find this switch by the front ashtray in the centre console .

The centre wire from the lamp socket goes to the Park and tail lamp fuse, if it has an earth wire, this should be fitted to the vehicle body with metal to metal contact. This ensures that the lamp in the socket is only illuminated when you have the vehicle park /tail lamps on. Alternatively, you can connect the centre wire to an ignition feed through a fuse but be warned, having the lamp lit up all the time can affect the surrounding plastic..

Not what light you are referring to. Hard to picture it. does sound like a brake system warning. Be sure to check the brake fluid reservoir, it may be low on fluid.

you may want to check the fuse for your-ELC/TRAILER . I am having problems with that too.
i changed the fuse and now it works.
