Coolant leaking on engine and burning

Don't drive the car. With white smoke, coming out of the exhaust, you must have blown your head gasket. It will also evaporate the cooling fluid, making the engine run without cooling.
Look for a certified repair shop, to get this repaired.

White smoke coming out of the exhaust on any gas powered vehicle is a sign that you have a blown head gasket allowing water from the cooling system to enter the cylinder, and when the piston comes up for combustion stroke and fires it turns the water to steam. This is also bad for allowing coolant to get in your oil, which anti-freeze in your oil will ruin the journals (Bearings) on the crankshaft (Major Engine Repair) costing several thousand dollars *NEW* !

If you have not replaced plugs start there A bad map sensor will also cause black smoke and poor running

If any electric welding was used on the car during the exhaust pipe work and the ground clamp wasn't in the proper location, there is a possability that your gearbox might have been damaged (fried).

if u have white smoke in exhaust along with two cyl misfiring that are next to each other more than likely u have a blown head gasket (the white smoke means u have coolant going into the exhaust )

you may have an oil leak and the oil is burning off of the hot exhaust or engine youll have to open the hood in order to decipher where the oil is coming from. or if its even oil it could be transmission fluid coolant a number of things youll have to see if you can tell exactly what it is thats leaking but my best guess is its probably oil.if it is oil its more than likely coming from the valve cover. id check there first.

Just an idea but the Ford Mondeo ( european car ) from which I believe your engine
is taken has a habit of splitting a low pressure tube at the back
of the engine this is a relatively
cheap, easy fix. The other symptom this used to throw up was a
little more black smoke from the exhaust and a pacing/ surging from
the engine.

sounds like a head gasket leak if the car is leaking gas DO NOT drive it if the gas is hitting the exhaust it will catch fire
