Hello Les, I suggest you install an auxiliary oil pressure gauge to measure the actual oil pressure. Did you inspect the oil pick up tube screen for debris that might restrict the oil from getting to the oil pump? Did you install an oil pump mounting gasket or o-ring if it requires one?

I have a 2008 GMC yukon 5.3 with no oil pressure and lifters are makeing noise put in a new oil pump and still have no oil pressure what could it be

Did the oil pressure get checked with another guage before replacing oil pump? The oil pressure sensor is a commom failure on these engines but the lifters making noise seem to verify the lack af pressure.

I replaced the oil pump and rod and main bearings and i still have somewhat low oil pressure

How do you know that you have Low Oil Pressure?

Are you trusting the Gauge or putting an In-Line Gauge?

YOUR GM GAUGE CLUSTER is known to have BAD or DEFECTIVE STEPPER MOTORS...

If you put the In-line Gauge on and see that you have Good Pressure, then what you need to do is rebuild your Instrument Cluster.

MAKE SURE YOU USE X27.168 Stepper Motors... The Cheaper CHINEESE STEPPER MOTORS are black and are defective.

The X27.168 Stepper Motors are WHITE and will last for as long as you own the Truck.

Order 6 Stepper Motors and do them ALL at the same time or you can pay someone $95-$200 to rebuild it for you...

No oil pressure after installing new oil pump lifters clicking

I am wondering about what I am reading above about your question. Did you replace a oil pump & lifters or only just the lifters? If you did replace the oil punp it must be packed full of Vaseline so it will prime. If not you will not get any oil pressure at all

I just bought a 2002 GMC 1500HD Crew Cab with 223,000 miles. The truck looks and runs like brand new. They were all freeway miles. The problem is this. When it first starts the oil pressure gauge is in the...

Nope, normal on start up is 60 PSI and once warmed up drops to 45 psi. Have the oil pressure checked for a proper reading during start up's when the engine is cold. As for the lifters ticking, that may be a sign that the engine was ran with low oil pressure or no oil and the lifters are damaged, or low oil pressure and the lifters are starved of oil. Try not to drive it and have a proper oil pressure reading, low oil pressure will damage the engine by having the main crank bearing to spin which is a engine replacement. Good luck and keep me posted.

The rocker arm ticks

before trying too much the lifters will sometimes bleed off some of the prime they have. first try putting in a pint of marvel mystery oil. if that doesn't fix it run an oil pressure test to see if you need a new pump or new lifters
