Think it is Balance shaft
SOURCE: How do i fix this problem ? clanking high pitch sound coming from intake.
have a compression test done as it may be a loose valve seat insert
balance shafts are just shafts and unless you have done a bearing for the shaft it will not make a clanking sound as there is no pressure applied to the shaft
basically a balance shaft is like a flywheel that takes vibrations out of the motor
