Start with good conn at both batt conn, alt plug & conn, ck ALL fuses. Doesn't sound conn w/ alt. Fuse, Relay or elec. short in the wire harness. Start w/ the basics.

My 2001 Ford Windstar brakes locked up driving down the road the other day. The brake pedal was just floppy and only engaged when it was near the floor. I was close so drove it on in and by the time I

t sounds like a battery problem ,, and or possibly a problem with the rectifier circuit.l That is what converts the AV current from the alternator to DC. if its pushing AC power the battery wont charge and you will have these issues with electrical malfunction.. you will also need to check your ACC fuse for the player and TV that inst working.

Why does 2003 windstar shut down electrically

Before replacing alternator testing should be done , is there B+ voltage at the heavier gage wire on the back of the alternator . Could have a blown fuse or fusible link . Your vehicle from what you have posted , isn't charging . Plus there is a regular fuse located in the under hood fuse box F1.13 - 10 amp this supply's B+ voltage to the orange with lit blue stripe wire at the three wire connector plugged into the alternator . The other two wires come from the PCM - engine computer . This charging system is computer controlled . Ford PCM controlled alternator testing

2003 windstar quit while driving down road no power at all

The first thing that must be done is to see if the battery is charged, if it is then you must have the engine control computer scanned for fault codes.

I am having a voltage issue with my 2003 gmc 1500hd 6.0L. I replaced the battery last week and had the alternator checked this past weekend and it checked out fine. Problem: At idle speed the voltage drops...

No. It is a bad alternator. When they test the alternator they turn it at faster rpm. When it turns at faster rpm it is charging fine. What the problem is the voltage regulator in the alternator is going bad. When you turn your blinker on I bet the voltage shows on the gauge. Moves up and down with the blinker.

My 2000 Ford Windstar is having some electrical issues. I was driving it home and the AC stopped working the radio went dead the odometer went dead my turn signals did not work and I could not roll down...

Check your alternator. My van did something similar. I was driving down the road and all of the sudden my windows, a/c, radio, door locks, speedometer, everything electrical went down. We stopped and tried to crank it and it wouldn't. Then finally it cranked up went another mile before the fuel pump quit working too. It was the alternator. I had to have someone come jump me off and follow me to the parts store and then home for it to be fixed.

1998 windstar van: charging system light goes

It could mean the alternator has gone bad already... with the car off, the battery leads should read 11-12V.. with the car on, the battery should read 13-14V.. if it's lower then it's not charging your battery and if it's higher, it's damaging your battery....
